buckethead can replace bbf ... no problem with that
but he can't replace robin that's for sure ... in fact robin can't really be replaced, that's the problem

Just give Buckethead 8 shots of the strongest stuff you can find and hopefully he will play like Finck.  Hahaha.  Fink did have some great solos...like Better, Street of Dreams, and This I Love.  And Bucket can play those!

Could you imagine a show with today's Axl, today's new songs, with Buckethead?  It would be the best possible GN'R lineup ever!

All bias aside I say Slash. The reason I say Slash is becouse when he was in the band GNR was at it's top and couldn't be stopped. Not saying Chinese Democracy isn't awesome......in fact I think it's the best album I've heard in many years but look at it this way if CD was the debut album do you think you would be as big as a GNR fan.

John Lennon! :paranoid:

Paul Crook would be cool though. aside RIchard fortus as lead and rythm. and Bumblefoot doing all the shred thingies

buckethead obviously couldt have played it as good as finck could have... otherwise Axl would have had BH rerecord fincks parts.

it's futile to have BH and BBF at the same time, since their technique is to similar, and the numbers just dont add up as much to the diversity and quality as some other combination would.

if you're set to have 2 guitar players, than they should be diverse, to complete each other... to fill in for the defects of another...
while BBF and BH are virtually two of the same.... thus leaving the void left by finck unfilled.

my personal preference in case Finck does quit (which he hasnt) would be either John 5 or Navarro,...

Finck... you fag!  :( why did you have to go...?

I agree.

Bucket and BBF shouldn't be in the same band. Having two guitar players who can play anything and everything is clearly a bad thing.

It wouldn't work at all.

What we really need is somebody who isn't really as good. That way you have balance. Whatever that is.
I wouldn't want anyone fucking in my yard

if Finck was that bad... why did Axl bring him back in 2000?
And it's not what they can play... but how they play it. Not every song has to sound like a pinball machine.

P.S. I dont believe we're at it again.

I don't think Finck is bad. I've grown to quite like Finck.

In fact, I really want him back in the band.

All I'm saying is that the whole Bucket and BBF couldn't work because they're not different enough thing is a silly argument.

That would only be an argument if you had Michael Angelo Batio and Rusty Cooley.

Bucket can do more than just blast out badass metal shred. Same for Bumble. The idea you need somebody to cover more bases with those two in your band because they're not "enough" is just asinine. Especially with Fortus there as well.

Finck has been in the band longer than BH so Axl isn't obviously going to re-record Finck's parts with BH's material.

First of i want to say happy new year to everyone here at the chinese forum , and a big thanx for posting news all year long and stay so true to axl and his new followers even though most of the world ( espcially the radio dj's & reviewers ) doing what they can to make this NOT bee a big event for rock fans , even though parts of it is due to blame best buy for the lack of promoting .
When it comes to the matter of who should be the new guitarist , as i said before and someone else on the forum pointed out , *this is a complex record with some technical and and difficult guitar playing on it * !  I have no doubt that bumblefoot could pull of many of the solos , if not all of them , but i dont think he does them justice like buckethead could do when he was in the band a while ago . While both of them is extremely talented and technical good - by far the best players and shredders guns ever had , i still think after years and years buckethead is the best god dammit player ive ever seen in my life , and he has that certain feeling and he plays with his soul , that so many other people complain about the new line up , that they are just brilliant technically but they havent got the feeling of slash . After listening to colma , electric tears and several more of the bucket albums i think bucket is a fortune to keep , the guy can create hert feeling music out of this world , just listen to the background guitar on 'sorry' , thats buckethead all the way . As far as the image goes with the kfc guy , i think it would appeal to a whole new generation of fans and the live shows would be so much cooler with the hog bitch stomp playing in the pause of every show . : )
