Update -

"We've been going through the NIN touring and studio rigs and are getting rid of a large selection of gear and equipment the band is no longer in need of. It's being listed on eBay here. We do not know which (if any) tour these items are from unless specified, nor can we get any items autographed, so please do not ask. Hundreds of items will be listed over the next several weeks such as guitars, keyboards, amplifiers, drums, staging, anvil cases, cables, rack/outboard gear, guitar effects, and pedal boards. Check the eBay page regularly for new listings, or follow @nineinchnails on Twitter for updates. More information can be found in the descriptions of each item.

We've also been gradually adding more inventory to the merch store, including t-shirts, books, and posters from recent tours. We'll be continuing to add more items in the future, so check back regularly or follow @nineinchnails on Twitter for updates."

Trent wants to get rid of everything which is sad. Its like he is selling a part of him.

Guys I've never really followed Nine Inch Nails, so I'm confused as to what the deal is right now.

Are they over as a touring band/brand forever? And Trent is only ever going to do studio work?

Well it's hard to say i suppose CD06, it looks like the touring is over for good but Trent will still produce new music in the studio, it's what he does!
I remember him saying in the woodstock 94 interview something along the lines of "if i'm still touring when i'm 50...shoot me because nobody wants to see that shit". I suppose he's sticking to his guns and realises that soon he wont be able to continue with the high energy shows.
Personally i'm wondering what Robin is going to do with himself now...he was always the NIN guitarist first and foremost and now GNR have DJ whatever he's going to have to find something else!

Cheers for the explaining Ruiner.

I have a lot of respect for Trent in looking to keep his respect in tact, he is someone who really does stick with what he believes.

NIN isn't really my kind of thing, but at the same time they do fascinate me...

Their live performance of 'Hurt' @ Reading 2007 gives me fucking chills every time. Go and youtube it and turn the thing up full blast, it's like an out-pouring of emotion.
