ARTIST: GUNS N' ROSES

SINGLE: BETTER (Black Frog/Geffen Records)

The title track from Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" hit radio a couple of months ago, but this new single is, well, much better -- a hook-filled track that won't tarnish the band's reputation for radio hits. It's a bit overproduced: "Better" has drum loops, a midtempo guitar-driven verse, a chorus that sounds like it could have come from another song, some frenetic fretboard sweeps at the end of each chorus and an electronic sheen hanging over it all. But somehow Axl Rose's familiar vocals hold it together. His sense of melody makes "Better" memorable, rendering the song equal parts rock and pop, and GN'R's first bona-fide single for the YouTube/iPod generation.

I became so much hopeful for future plans after ChiDem release. everything's gonna be alright once again for GN'R and us fans. however I believe CD release made everything fine.. now what we need is a music video or two, and a long time world tour

Pretty cool review. I'm not bothered that there have been no videos from CD. I've got what I wanted, a physical copy of a genuine Chinese Democracy. If anything, I'm glad, because this record has been pretty quiet, its kinda special for us fans.

It would be nice if there was a fucking video produced sooner rather then later and an announcement of a tour...if the album release was the endgame for Chinese Democracy then I am going to be very disappointed and pissed off, for as much waiting as we all did we deserve what other bands give their fans which is a video and a tour.

And by tour I mean a tour with some shit from CD being played like Shacklers and If the World and Prostitute, not the AFD part deux tour we got in 2006/2007.  This is ridiculous, someone somewhere fucked up BIG TIME and this isn't fair to the fans.

Getting CD out was the hard part, the video is done, of course they will tour.

There is just a lag between each part but thats nothing new for GNR.
