The old lineup back together would fuck everything up, don't you see? Besides, it makes no sense doing it now, after all those things. See Axl's chat for more.  ;)

Fuck everything up????  Uh, fuck what up??  There is nothing going on, sure we finally got Chinese Democracy..  Which personally I do like, but according to the media it was a complete flop.  We have not heard about any tour dates, no video, no interviews, nothing.  So seriously what is there to fuck up??

+1. snd even if there were interviews and videos, the interviews could be cool if the reunion question popped up (like always) and he could answer it in a good way and as videos are concerned, i think video with slash or duff or izzy would be more cool then with a hip-hop drummer or a pothead guitarist.

You're nuts.  Although it is unlikely, a reunion would be the best thing musically for Axl and Slash.  As doubtful as it is, to this day Axl Roses has never said NEVER.

A reunion would be amazing!  In my dreams it will happen.  I am still  pissed that I missed a GNR concert back in 1992.  I want to see the reunion.  I have been waiting since they broke up in the 90s for them to get it back together.

I wonder if the success of the Illusion albums was just too much for the band to survive.  Maybe the fame did get to the heads of the band members and that is why they broke up.  Whatever the cause I would hope they all could move past the things that caused the breakup and get it back together.  I would love to see them live or at minimum get a new album of material out of the band in the vintage style that made them popular.  GNR is one of the few glam bands that survived the grunge early 90s but then later imploded due to self implosion.  It is really sad.  But we can now hope to move past this and have a reunion.  What can we as fans do to help this reunion happen?  What would Axl rose need to get past his issues and get the band back?  I am sure Axl is the main person that needs to want this reunion to make it happen.  I am sure everyone besides Izzy would be interested.  Izzy may show up for some shows but he does not like to tour but you never know.  I think that Slash and duff could get over past issues if Axl would get over it and make amends.  I am sure Slash deep down wants a reunion but just does not admit it.  Maybe slash will go visit Axl's house again.  God knows we need something to bring this band back together.

If it does not happen soon I will have to invent a time machine and go see a GNR concert that may be the only way to make GNR get back together.

Old line up would be shit just like they were from 90-93. I'm sorry but Axl is 46 he can't hold together by himself anymore.

I believe if they did get backtogether they would hold together just fine.  They are a lot more mature now.  They should be able deal with each other better.  From listening to VR live I would say they could play the old gnr tunes great.   I think you are crazy to think they could not hold it together.  The real question is what drummer would you trust more Steven or Matt.  Also, would izzy be willing to tour or record on new albums?   I think Slash and Axl still could do the old songs really well.  No doubt.  I know duff can still play.  I think people underestimate the writing abilities duff and izzy had.  Those two really helped forge gnr along with Axl Rose.  Stevens drumming was essential for AFD.   I am not so sure how instrumental his playing was for the few songs he had contributions on the Illusion albums.  But I do like most of the Illusion songs.  I would think eaither Steven or Matt would be great to have back.  But I feel that Matt may be more dependable.  If they can't use eaither drummer due to dependablity or personality confilcts I recommend they use Ray Luzier he is a pretty amazing drummer.

People will always want a reunion of GNR because the band was really special and irreplacable.  You can't replace Coke with Pepsi and expect everyone to like it.  Some just want classic coke A.K.A. classic GNR.

i just wanted too say that, adler wrote all the UYI drumparts, matt joined  and recorded those songs afterwards. (slash's book) and if you see adler's appetite he can definitely play the old songs. izzy would do it as long as everyone would be sober. he's really anti-drug and anti-alcohol man after HE got sober.

otherwise i agree with all you said.

Wouldn't it be the worst thing for Axl?  That would mean that CD truly was a flop and that he actually needs Slash. If they reunite now, then everyone might overlook CD.  And I personally think Brain is better than Matt.  The only two people I'd like to see back are Izzy and Duff.

nah. reunion is good for 'em all when they become friends no matter when that is, no matter what each an every one of them has done musically recently or long time ago.

I'd definitely want to see Sorum behind the kit. Duff & Matt have a real tight sound together.

as do duff and steven. see the ritz and more shows with him on drums and you'll see that they were real tight both musically and as persons.

Very true, the Ritz gig is amazing stuff. I guess I prefer the bands heavier live sound with Sorum from the UYI era.
