Old line up would be shit just like they were from 90-93. I'm sorry but Axl is 46 he can't hold together by himself anymore.

they were NOT shitty from 90 - 93. how dare you say that? yes axl is 46 and he will be 46 no matter if he's in the new band or the old band.

I believe if they did get backtogether they would hold together just fine.  They are a lot more mature now.  They should be able deal with each other better.  From listening to VR live I would say they could play the old gnr tunes great.   I think you are crazy to think they could not hold it together.  The real question is what drummer would you trust more Steven or Matt.  Also, would izzy be willing to tour or record on new albums?   I think Slash and Axl still could do the old songs really well.  No doubt.  I know duff can still play.  I think people underestimate the writing abilities duff and izzy had.  Those two really helped forge gnr along with Axl Rose.  Stevens drumming was essential for AFD.   I am not so sure how instrumental his playing was for the few songs he had contributions on the Illusion albums.  But I do like most of the Illusion songs.  I would think eaither Steven or Matt would be great to have back.  But I feel that Matt may be more dependable.  If they can't use eaither drummer due to dependablity or personality confilcts I recommend they use Ray Luzier he is a pretty amazing drummer.

People will always want a reunion of GNR because the band was really special and irreplacable.  You can't replace Coke with Pepsi and expect everyone to like it.  Some just want classic coke A.K.A. classic GNR.

i just wanted too say that, adler wrote all the UYI drumparts, matt joined  and recorded those songs afterwards. (slash's book) and if you see adler's appetite he can definitely play the old songs. izzy would do it as long as everyone would be sober. he's really anti-drug and anti-alcohol man after HE got sober.

otherwise i agree with all you said.

You're nuts.  Although it is unlikely, a reunion would be the best thing musically for Axl and Slash.  As doubtful as it is, to this day Axl Roses has never said NEVER.

Wouldn't it be the worst thing for Axl?  That would mean that CD truly was a flop and that he actually needs Slash. If they reunite now, then everyone might overlook CD.  And I personally think Brain is better than Matt.  The only two people I'd like to see back are Izzy and Duff.

nah. reunion is good for 'em all when they become friends no matter when that is, no matter what each an every one of them has done musically recently or long time ago.

I would prefer Steven on drums, but better keep Sorum around just in case.....
Never lose hope: BRING BACK SLASH.

I'd definitely want to see Sorum behind the kit. Duff & Matt have a real tight sound together.

as do duff and steven. see the ritz and more shows with him on drums and you'll see that they were real tight both musically and as persons.

Very true, the Ritz gig is amazing stuff. I guess I prefer the bands heavier live sound with Sorum from the UYI era.
