Well, they are focusing on Obama because when it comes to reelection, he's still the parties nominee and will have to back him.
And he's done those things, but only to an extent. He's tried to do more with them, but Congress has the real power and they're not really doing much of anything but that isn't anything new.
As of right now the unemployment rates are just as horrible as ever in most areas. People want to say "Oh look, the rate has gone DOWN!" But the Unemployment rate is only the number of people who are COLLECTING unemployment, there are a lot of people out of work not collecting it because theirs ran our or they simply aren't allowed to collect it.
Wall Street is still a mess because of another crash a few months ago BUT prior to that, and recently, it has been recovering.
They have also made it easier in some ways to get student loans to go to college. Then again though the problem is people are afraid to take these loans because if they can't get a job, especially with how few are available, they won't be able to pay those loans back and student loans are the only thing aside from IRS Debt and Child Support are the only things not able to be erased by Bankruptcy, which is also much harder to file for. It's actually quite crazy how much money it costs to file for Bankruptcy...
We did begin pulling our Troops out of Iraq, and the war there is effectively coming to and end, though we still have soldiers in Afghanistan.
They passed a health care bill, but it hasn't gone into effect yet, and even then whether it helps or hurts is yet to be seen.

Here in Florida though things are easily worse than ever and It's not due to Obama. Charlie Crist was making huge strides here in Florida and was turning things around. Then he tried to go for a Senate seat when there was NO chance he'd be able to win it, but decided to try anyways. Because of that, he didn't run for reelection, and for some reason we voted Rick Scott into office.
Rick Scott has single handedly destroyed what was left of the state. The changes he's made to unemployment, health care, medicaid, disability, and welfare are just idiotic. Pretty much everything he has done has been putting another nail in the coffin. With his history he shouldn't have even been a candidate.
Heck, it's our OWN money that goes into unemployment and he's making that near impossible to get now.
He was the CEO of a healthcare company until he had to resign because his company pleaded guilty to 14 felonies because of policies he created that caused the deaths of hundreds of people. If anyone was found to have a serious and costly disease/condition, such as cancer, it was policy to go back into their paperwork and try to find ANY discrepancy to use in order to drop them from their health coverage, and in many cases they couldn't get health care anywhere else since they have a 'preexisting condition'.
An Urgent Care Center he started is under fire because of his orders to not hire minorities, elderly, or overweight people, and only hire 'mainstream' looking people instead. Also, his changes to welfare have people having to pay for their own drug testing before being able to get welfare, and where do they have to get their testing done? Through HIS urgent care centers. His reasoning behind people paying for their own testing was that "9 percent of people on welfare are drug users". Problem is that studies show that only 2 percent of people on Welfare have drug tests that come back positive. Not only that, but it's estimated 6 percent of people in the US are on drugs.
Now, he's also redrawing the districts, trying to make it harder for minorities and Democrats to hold offices in Florida, and is under fire for that as well.
This guy refused to do most interviews, wouldn't debate, yet he won only because his face was everywhere. He spent 3 times as much money as his opponent, and he spent it out of pocket, this way he wouldn't have to disclose where his money went to. It's just insane that this person was ever a candidate.
