Abortion - Is it really the womans right to choose?
« on: January 16, 2009, 05:27:16 PM »
I really don't think a woman should get to choose whether to kill her baby or not. If shes big enough to have sex and creat the child she should be big enough to give birth. I know there are cases of incest and rape which need to be considered in greater detail. I think in most cases, the child should be born but perhaps adopted if its too painful to deal with for life.

That child is innocent and should be given a chance. The mother isn't god, she shouldnt choose whether the child lives or not. The argument of "its her body" is just stupid. Its her body when she wants to get her tits done or gets liposuction. Its not her body, its another living things body.

I hate when people abuse abortions and use them as a means of contraception. I find it disturbing how in countries such as england, how easy it is to commit murder (cos thats what it is to me.. murder). Its a case of ringing up booking your appointment. A little day trip. I know theres some new way where you just take a tablet and go home. A "DIY" job.

After a certain amount of time, when a baby is aborted it feels everybit of the pain as its little hands and feet are torn away.

If a baby is born and put on a machine to live for a few weeks, and the mother took matters into her own hands and cut the machine off, she'd be in serious trouble with the law. Why is it LEGAL to kill your child just because its in your body and not out. Its still alive.

Abortion is disgusting, abortion is wrong. NO-ONE has the right to play god.

Oh no, don't I'm just saying you're really busy, this form could use some intelligent conversation

Anyway, I am pretty divided on this, there are just to many factors and circumstances to why you should or shouldn't

I dont know about intelligent  but thanks.

Yeh most people are divided, I used to be for years but after discussing it with many different people I'm certain that what I said above is what i believe.

Having said that, Im always willing to listen to what other people think. Theres been many times, where someone has come along and explained something in a different way to what your used to, and it can change your opinion. I love that!

The question you gotta ask is When is it considered a life?

For me, its when the sperm fertilises the egg.

Thats the cut off point. I know physcos go into the discussion of: well, you could argue stopping "making out" is abortion because if you had continued you might have sexand create a baby

But for me its the sperm & egg meeting. You?

haha um for me I think the second it develops a heart and it is beating then there is the cut off point.

It like making bread.. until it rises can you really call it bread.

janie your argument is fundamentally flawed as it assumes that all abortions kill a child, when in fact it is nothing of the sort. personally i wouldn't endorse it but to call it murder is misrepresentation of the situation
