after months of listening to this album on every format from vinyl to cd to radio to ipod. i've came to my own personal conclusion this album is special. obviously its special because its chinese democracy, but theres another reason too. before the album came out people were so excited talking about how this album could be the first diamond album since shania twain or outkast (i cant remember who had the last one). if you pay attention now there's a ton of users who do there best to act hip by slamming the lack of mainstream success for this album. and its more then just users here, everyone rips this album some without even listening to it.

and thats something i love. i'll be riding around with my friends and better will come on the radio and they will be amazed how awesome it is, then an hour later chinese democracy will come on and they will be like wtf is this shit. i think i love the negative responses more then the positive ones. this album doesn't meat the expectations casual rock listeners or alot of the forum members had for it. theres no catchy choruses on this album, theres no simple rock tracks. this album isn't axl rose making guns n' roses music, it's axl rose making his music. its axl rose finaly being his childhood heros this album sounds more like elton john meets 10cc meets led zep meets nine inch nails then anything else. and for the reasons that this album doesn't meet the standards of rock radio listeners is its greatest accomplishments. its what makes this album a true guns n' roses album. AFD and UYI both weren't made for rock listeners, they were made to put out a message.

personally I dont like old guns n' roses, i like the character of axl rose the misunderstood maniac with the only thing bigger then his ego is his heart. i like the songs, i dont care for the band i think it sounds to aged especialy AFD, i like UYI though mainly for the axl epics. chinese democracy is my favorite album ever, and gn'r is my favorite band because of chinese democracy. this album goes the opposite direction of which most people wanted. not one song sounds alike on here, not one song sounds like an old gn'r song yet it still has that voice..the passion in every line to make it tingle your spine like only gn'r could do.

this rant might be stupid but i think i needed to get it off my shoulders, i love this album and i love that no one else (obviously not you guys, yous might feel the same as me) likes this album. i know alot people who don't like gn'r or rock music love this music, and thats its strongest point its better then what "gn'r fants" real rock fans say it is.

Thanks for sharing. I've been listening to CD everyday since it came out & it just gets better & better. Most people will not invest enough time in this Album to really fall in love with it or they are unwilling to give it a chance because it's not Slash & CO.  That's really a shame because I'm a long-time GNR fan & this is definately a GNR record. The sound quality is the best I've heard on any CD, ever. It sounds fucking fantastic loud as hell in my Car which has a jacked up sound system. The sound seems to get clearer & richer the louder it is. Definately meant to be played loud. Another thing is that unlike th UYI's, no filler. How many albums in the last 10 years can U say that about. CD is now my second favorite Record of all time (AFD #1). Thank god it came out!!
