What do you think about the following statement/question


Religion is fake, if God really created Religion why would God make so many religions leading to wars/disputes etc.? Why isn't there just 1 religion


just want opinions, someone told me it the other day and I started thinking about it.

well,God created people.....people then created religion.The reason there are many different religions is simply that people see things differently.People rarely see the same thing,we all percieve things differently.

Ya it kinda does... for example... in 1995 that spanish singer Selina was shot but couldve live with a blood fusion operation. her parents and her religion didnt condone that so they chose not to do that and she died as a result. There religion made the choice for them.

Those terrorists cunts who attacked us on 9/11 did so to praise their god Alah. Thats why they call it an islamic jihad... a HOLY war.. it might sound like bull shit and it is but its what they believe in. Religion dictates alot of shit.

actually its people that allow religion to dictate them.if my child was going to die....i wouldnt care what it took to help them live,no matter what my religions stand on it may be.people have free will,we make our own decisions. religion was created as guidelines, not to control every action.

we have free will for a reason,

No, God didn't create People. People (Homo Sapiens) are an extremely intelligent (relatively speaking) and successful species of ape that evolved in East Africa, around 200,000 years ago. To simply assert that "God" is responsible for this process, without any evidence, is completely superfluous; since we can adequately explain it without he/she/its existence and involvement.

The spread of disparate and contradictory religions/superstitions is exactly the type of phenomena you would expect when unenlightened civilisations are trying to adequately explain the baffling complexity of themselves and the world around them, without the benefit of modern science and technology.

It is also what you would expect from the only animal to ever evolve on this planet that has knowledge of its own mortality. Fear can make you believe some crazy things.

Ultimately, I'd say your premise is false, however. Although I agree that God is a man made illusion; the spread of contradictory world religions, while consistent with the notion that man made God, does not conclusively prove the notion by itself.

The spread of disparate and contradictory religions/superstitions is exactly the type of phenomena you would expect when unenlightened civilisations are trying to adequately explain the baffling complexity of themselves and the world around them, without the benefit of modern science and technology.

Basically, the more we (humanity) learn about the surrounding world, the less cause we have to simply assert 'Well I don't understand how that works, so God must have done it'.
