Wow, this is kind of scary to me. And it backs up my thoughts on how people are scared into believing, scared into confession, prayer. And honestly, I don't like it at all. The people I live with now, are catholic, they really don't go to church much, but they send their daughters to church and catechism every weekend, because they want to "give them the faith and they can choose what they want later", well, "choose" I think they are already being brainwashed in church there to manipulate them to choose to be Catholic. Thing is, she's a science person, HS principal, and yet, she said this "when you get older, you see that there's so many things you can't explain, and although I don't agree with the Catholic church on many levels, I'm catholic".... Well, I would expect a science person to understand that we can't explain these things because we haven't figured all off it out yet. Just like people used to think the earth was flat...etc, we will figure it out eventually. I'm not sure where I'm going with all this, basically I'm against all organized religion and scaring children into prayer...... it's just wrong imo, if you pray or believe just because your scared of going to hell, then well...it's all about money. Churches are closing down here, cause they ain't making enough profit..that's all I have to say.

I dunno maybe for many people it is fine but I'm also sure that for many people its not. << this organized religious stuff. Like if you had a great family that sent you to catholic school and at the same time the catholic way was all happy and all... then you can walk that straight line and be a very happy harmonious average joe.  but with me... I came from a disfucntional family and I think going to this catholic schooling while I needed to act a certain way scared the shit out of me (subconsciously)  and just made it worse.

but the nuns who threw books at me or pulled my hair while banging my head against a chalkboard didn't help either

Yeah, maybe, but I just don't like how they use the spongy kids brain's and teach them to be all judgmental against different stuff like homosexuality, I don't think teaching little kids a one way of thinking like that, cause it'll stay in their head, it's what they learn at that age that is hard to get rid of. It's just what makes the society this violent and awful.

God, that's insane  :O Seriously, sometimes I just wanna...punch people in the face so hard their brain gets reset, and teach them how to live.. But I guess I can't do that so I'll just keep smashing my head against the wall and hope it(they) all goes away. :smoke:

I can see it now....the son of God slaughtering Bolshevik Muslims to save us from damnation.

so in this thread we asked if God was real etc.. etc.. and depends how you view him. One said fuck religion. and others argue which religion should be followed... but now I ask what about the un-system-ness and talk about the evidence of your soul? to be proof.

for example the things you can't really explain as in when I DO pray (and this drives me crazy) I feel a soulful calmness. but the thing that drives me crazy is that I don't know if its real. I was brought up by nuns and shit where I had to pray and go to church and yea I even sang in Choirs lol and these werent fun times for me but I had a certain learning. but I was also learned much guilt.  I don't know if I am brain washed or not.

How does that tie into this thread?  Well just from me under these curcumstances which wern't so extreme in my life but bad enuff... I couldn't even imagine being raised and brainwashed by other extreme religions. So yea you can say that religion does cause this because there is a whole psychology that humans go thru at different ages of their lives and when subjected to force fed .. religion...  its somehow grown into you and can really fuck up a person.

I feel God when I pray... but I don't really believe in him... like only sometimes. anybody else feel like this? and other times I feel like I have to believe in him because of Guilt.
u know why u dont sometimes believe in him? because there is no him, god is not someone or something u look up to towards, god is yourself and its in you. religion is cool and everything, it can be a good thing sometimes, when somebody is going through a hard time in their life, they have somebody to turn to but also the same way people can use religion to take advantage of peopl. like jehova witness', i mean they operate like a company, recruit random people and when they get him in the person has to pay like 20% of ther salary to the church and recruit new members. just wer\ird shit
