The only clear thing I get out of your words is that you have a hatred for GNR and Axl Rose.

...i guess u just like to hear lies 'bout new gnr!...so that's the meaning of hatred that you get when i say something real 'bout'em!........if ya r so fucking smart to describe everything then why don't you show us if big guns exist?

...c'mon,...u smart guy, u can find the sources to open our eyes up!...whatcha waiting for?   :err:

...oh, i know u'll say "of course" but u have no a clue at all 'bout it!
I know you were so happy when you left me and I also know you're unhappy now cuz you sleep with'em without being loved really, what a sad whore!

I believe that if you were paying attention that you would know that I was making a prediction for the future of CD and any "big guns" on the album are big to me, regardless of how many copies are sold past, present, and future.  The album is spectacular regardless of whether or not the mindless masses buy it.

I also used AFD as an example (not a comparison of music) of what I BELIEVE will happen with CD.  It literally took a year for AFD to really take off and I see the same thing happening with CD.

I have posted some stupid shit on this forum, I'll be the first to admit that.  But I think you got me beat

ok, CD will be a bestseller like AFD...it's something real just like Phil Collins phones you in the night to speak to ya a little while!

i think that if you want mainstream hits Axl should release better or this i love, but you know i dont think they'd do that well considering whats on the charts at the moment, we've gotta remember that when GnR were at their peak in the late 80's/early 90's, people wanted Rock n' Roll music, sadly today thats not what is in highest demand, its shite like britney spears and the pussycat dolls, you very rarely see a rock n' roll song at number one, i do think that 'this i love' would appeal to a mainstream audience because its a ballad and people can relate to it, but sadly the kids who listen to mainstream probly arent going to be interested in it....which sucks because chinese democracy is a masterpiece...

To be a hit these days a song has to be catchy something people will sing a long with or with a bit of fire behind it.
IRS had the potential to be a hit song but it was never fixed in the way it should have been but songs like TWAT and Protstitute as good as they are musically just won't catch on with the younger generation.A lot of the songs are too depressing.
you wouldn't put them on when you were going to a club or hear them in the club and thats the problem with cd and most modern rock music.

excuse me i am the young generation and i love those songs, i've also sung along to the CD songs on the 2007 tour live when no one else around me was... so shut the fuck up
ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME MR SECURITY MAN!?

I think all that's holding this album back is the lack of any real promotion. The songs are there - they're just waiting to be heard. Someone here mentioned word of mouth and I think that realistically that's how CD is going to sell. At the moment, I can't see there being any big promotional campaigns officially, but what's stopping us - the fans - from putting the word out further?

I've seen some fantastic fanmade videos for "Better", etc, why don't we promote those videos (and, in turn the songs and the album) on MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and wherever else we can?

As I fan, I'm not too bothered if the world and his mother buys CD... However, wouldn't it be brilliant if it sold really well and proved all the naysayers wrong? Just a thought...

If we are talking mainstream hits I would say the songs that have potential are Sorry and Catcher. I don't think a hard rock audience will take to todays GNR. They still think of GNR as old GNR and if they get something different they will turn their head. No, it has to be a softer GNR song to play on a pop station to reach a bigger non judgmental audience that doesn't know too much about GNR. Somebody who will hear the song, like it, and say wow, thats Guns N' Roses?

I think CITR is the best bet. When I listen to that song It reminds me of something they would play on a pop station.

Of course he did, CD is full of it people, but the current state of the music "industry" only let hit's to be hit's if the labels decide them to be and if they decide to pay for airing on the radio's in hit bombarding fashion, meaning getting it played 3 to 4 times per hour until people are sick of it.

This is called buyouts, You don't need examples do ya?

I guess you noticed the lack of support the band got for the release and promo of CD, (except the best buy thing) though many of you are only blaming uncle Axl for it.

In a normal hit creating style, there's tons of promo for the artist, tons of airplay, Video's, tons of money to be paid upfront to whoever, interviews and touring etc. this is all part of creating a hype for or around an artist (labels money making product, nothing less or more).

For GN'R nothing happened cause there's no support or what so ever from the label/publisher/radio results in zero to none support from the mainstream audience (clubs, bars, parties, again DJ's) only the old stuff gets played etc.

Until today one year + after the release I haven't heard one track of CD on the Belgian radio,  personally I think it's a shame for the radio programmers and DJ's... and if Guns gets played it's out of nostalgia like it's a band from way back... NR, SCOM, WTTJ, PC, YCBM gets played that's all.

I still believe things would be easier for GN'R if they were to become independent artist's on there own Indie label, who knows soon or late... the fan's will still be around and support them and buy the record's etc.

Cheers

PS: None the less a good song will always be a good song no matter in what way, form or version !
