Just read an article at http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,25077547-5012327,00.html about Brendon Flowers which states:

In the UK - The Killers' most successful territory - Day & Age debuted at No.1, over Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy.

"We deserved to beat them," Flowers says.

"They're not what they used to be. We stuck together, this is our decade, this is our era. We deserve it."

I like them less everyday due to Brandon's pretentiousness and their decreasing album quality.

Nothing surprises me about this because popular music has always belonged to the youth.  I was a part of GNRs rise to the top and there was not a fuckin thing bands from the late 70s or early 80s could do to turn that around.  But I will bet you this;  The Killers new album won't be selling a couple thousand a week 10 years from now like Appetite For Destruction still does 22 years later :D

Hahaha.  Chinese Democracy will be selling long after the crappy Killers, and in the U.S. I believe CD beat the new Killers CD.
