Someone made a good point about Slash holding back his response until he has something to sell, I'll keep an eye on that and see if it comes true when 'Slash & friends' is about to hit the stores.

I would take this seriously is it came from a professional in Slashs life like his manager. Not Perla, who I lost all respect for the day I saw the photo of her face in Slashs bare ass.

And as I said in the Axl interview thread, 'Cancer' is a pretty good description. He hated SCOM, and didn't want to do Patience, November Rain or Estranged. Axl made him do them and those are the songs which gave Slash a huge reputation. Axl gave, and Slash took.

Because he has no friends. Oh yeah he has Baz... Great.

Look at how many artists are willing to play and have fun with Slash. How many played with him in the past. He has tons of friends, people like 'Rock God' Alice Cooper who regularly work with Slash for almost 20 years ! Now that's what I call respect.

How many people talked trash about Axl ? You couldn't even count them. Everyone who ever worked with him left or  said 'never again'.

Statements like 'Axl gave Slash took' is incredibly ridiculous (but then again you do seem to have personal dislike of SLash based on your previous posts)

I don't have a personal dislike of Slash, I like him and think he is a great guitar player. Though I understand why you would get idea from my recent posts. It's just a reaction to the Axl bashing.
The guitar in Estranged and SCOM and NR are powerful, my point was had Slash gotten his way those songs would never have been released and those are the songs that made him a legendary player. It's ironic.

I do find it odd that Slash has had major fallings out with Axl, Rod Jackson and Scott Weiland, pretty much all the long term singers he's had. Whereas everyone who has worked with post-1996 GN'R has had all nice things to say about Axl, starting from Zakk Wylde and working to the present day. But that's just an observation.
And as far as I'm aware Alice Cooper always hs sung Axls praises as well. Shame Slash can't sing, problem solved.

sure Axl has friends. Baz, Izzy Kid Rock are the obvious ones. but Axl used to do alot of guest appearances (he went onstage with other bands and he had other guys joining him onstage) why has he stopped that?


Slash does have more big-hits friends then Axl. that is not a claim but a fact.

maybe because of the new musical direction of GN'R. for example I think another Rolling Stones guest appearance will never happen.

Let's face it - Axl's right about Slash's guitar playing. A couple of riffs & solos aside, post-gnr he has not produced anything deserving of the iconic status fans have afforded to him.

Well, it seems like Perla really is a spotlight whore and hates the album for Slash, even though Slash himself has praised it.  I remember seeing her on TV implying an insult outside a listening party right before it came out.

Why do you guys waste so much time trying to make a point out of the reasons to like/dislike Axl and/or Slash? Also, I will never understand the point in spending endless hours bashing the work of others. If you dislike it, just ignore it. Your opinions are not going to change what is already done. And how pointless is this discussion on how Slash has more "friends" than Axl. Since when does having more "friends" make anyone better? Especially in terms of the music industry. I think most people don't get the point here, you may have an entire industry bowing to your work, and that still won't mean its quality is superior to that of others. In fact, it is the work that is often overlooked by the industry that presents higher quality, just because higher quality is often associated with complexity. The industry wants to sell, and you couldn't possibly expect a high quality product, in musical terms, to be easily digested by the average buyer. Axl has made it very clear that he's not interested in making music to please anyone, yet he's very much interested in the artistical process, in expressing ideas which will very likely be perceived negatively because his work has become rather authoral.
