Well said L!VE.

Of course I'd love to see Axl dominate the music scene with CD and beyond. But all I'm really here for is the love of the music, the sales figures a neither here nor there with me.

CD didn't sell? 3-3.5 million is pretty solid if you ask me. Recouping costs, etc.

How well were US sales from this US rockband? Lets not even compare it against the real guns albums. How did it do when compared to current acts or AC/DC & Metallica's album? Let's face it, bro. You can sugar coat it with your bullshit all you like, the album went down faster than the titanic and you know that it did. It was certainly anticlimatic..

Many fail to address the obvious point that Axl/MGMT will promote it as they see fit. And I'd rather have it sell "pretty well" and perform as it has, so that only the legit music fans can listen to it and enjoy it rather than 1980s-loving party 40+ year old retards who shit on it because it's too smart for them. Or the scene kids talking about "it being soooo 20 years ago", etc.

The obvious point of Axl and his management promoting it?? LOL! What a straw man argument if I ever heard one. Do you honestly think - out of the blue - Axl or his management is going to just start promoting this album? Not a fuckin chance. That ship has sailed long ago, dude. And even if they tried now, it would look down right desperate and pitiful. My point to all this is, for such an "mindblowing, epic, amazing, killer" album, it sure didnt make many believers, or garner any interest at all.

For them, they can fuck off and put their ketchup on their kobe beef and trying on their mommy's underthings.

Hey, if in your mind that helps to justify why this thing didnt sell, so be it.

In the UK Chinese Democracy outsold Death Magnetic.

Right on the point that they missed the bus for promotion.

But the recent release of the album on RB has done well for Gn'R in the public consciousness and exposed more people to the record. Whether or not that translates to physical sales is irrelevant. However, there's a tour you have to account for. People will buy the record on tour. And seems to me that Axl is waiting for the Best Buy deal to run out, so he can re-issue the record so both Gn'R and Geffen can reap the benefits. Then the nerds will buy it again, etc., etc. Classic double dip and yeah it will probably be means of putting off record 2.

And fuck off with that "real Guns record" shit. The industry has changed. Even if your boy Adler.... and Slash, Duff, and Izzy were in the band it would not do Appetite numbers.

And your entire argument is based off the premise that sales are important, because beyond the old lineup loyalists that can't seem to move on, no one cares about that.

It's ironic that you talk about "true band this....real Guns record that" yet all you do is beg for material from the NEW lineup. I think Axl's made it abundantly clear that a reunion will never ever happen.

So there's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, yeah, but why not just sit back and relax and see what unfolds.

Wow. I can't believe just how pathetic these excuses are getting for why the album didnt sell? Your "average" seems to be slightly bullshit. The album didnt sell because it had no songs that were mainstream friendly. Period. Nobody gives a sweet shit if Axl went on Letterman or not. Face it, man. This thing had epic fail written all over it from the get go. We, as fans, can bullshit all we like, but the album just wasnt all that.

Basically hard core Internet GNR fans bought it but the majority of GNR fans are not on the internet like we are and have no clue it is released because they havent seen it advertised or on store shelves...

BTW Why are you so obsessed about obtaining leaks.... When all you do is cut down the band and the album? Are you looking for something new to cut down?

For most of us, we are not starved because we are happy enough with the new songs and the mythical journey is over. There has been no actual promises of new songs to be released on another album, only that Chinese Democracy could be a potential double.
