Well whoever the next Singer for VR is, they will constantly be getting compared to both Axl and Scott, I think this guy was trying to say that he doesn't want that, thats why he brought up Axl.

Shooter's got it bad enough being compared to his late father, whom I loved as a singer.   When he played his dad in "Walk the Line," I found him to be a dead ringer in terms of his old man's voice. 

I'm glad he turned it down.  Would've hurt and not helped his own legacy.
