At least Shackler's Revenge and Sorry are obviously about the ex-bandmates, but there's no doubt that some of the songs are directed to Stephanie Seymor (or more specifically to her son). Haven't you read the Axl interview from 2000? Here's a quote:
"Having stayed publicly silent so long, Rose appears to view the album as a final offering-up of his side of all his myriad battles - notably with his estranged band mates and, even more painful, with his one time fiancee, supermodel Stephanie Seymour, with whom he had an ugly split. He speaks of his desire for Seymour's son to someday be able to come across the new record. ''I hope he'll hear it when he grows up, if he ever wants to know the story, to hear the truth,'' Rose says."

I don't think Axl ever thought that the original lineup would run to a store just to buy the album. That's ridiculous! But we do know that at least Slash and Duff have heard the album and they both thought it was great.

Shacklers Revenge was about the shooter in the Virgina Tech shootings.

You're not the one who decides if Slash and Duff listen to Chinese Democracy or not. It's their own choice. Don't you read any interviews at all? Here's a couple of links:

The song is ostensibly about the Virginia Tech shootings, but that's not all there's to it. Just like the Chinese Democracy song isn't solely a song about China, Shackler's Revenge too has another level. If there's one line on the album that is directed at Slash then it's gotta be this one:
No one is a stoppin' you
From a doin what you want to do
No one is a stoppin' yo now
Stoppin' you now

Shacklers Revenge was about the shooter in the Virgina Tech shootings.

Bingo.  Thanks for setting that straight.

Some of the song's that are alleged to be aimed at former G n R members seem more directed to the public, crazed fans, a hostile media whom Axl battled with in the past, etc...imo

Scraped, for instance.  Sorry, also.  Prostitute.

Now, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Rhiad and the Bedouins is a clear metaphor for Slash and the others...Are there any others I'm missing?

The lost love songs are [obviously] about Ms. Seymour.  She is stunning to look at.  I can see why he needed to emote about losing THAT piece of tail.

Personally if I was going to separate the so called lost love songs of There was a time and This I Love to me is kinda obvious who he would be singing about. There was a time would be clearly about Stephanie while This I Love would be about Erin. After all he did consider he and Erin soul mates who were meant to be together.

Yeah, Riad is obviously about the ex bandmembers. Sorry is mostly directed to the public but there's no way to know for sure if this part is aimed at Slash or the media:
You tell them stories they'd rather believe
Use and confuse them
They're numb and naive
The truth is the truth hurts don't you agree
It's harder to live with the truth about you
Than to live with the lies about me

And like I said in my previous post, I seriously doubt that Shackler's Revenge is ONLY about the Virgina Tech shootings.

Imo the only line directly related to Slash is "you know where to put your just shut and sing"

So what's you guys' theory about this part: "You sold your soul, but I won't let you win"? I always thought it's directed at Slash. We know Axl thought Slash sold his soul by playing with everyone from Space Ghost to Michael Jackson. But if you don't think the song has anything to do with Slash at all then who do you think sold his soul and how?

I really thought the whole song was about Slash until I read what Axl had to say about this subject in an interview.  I aint gonna go against what Axl said.  But I do agree that this part could definitely apply to Slash, God knows he has sold out to anybody that will listen to him, from his book deal to all his guest appearances on albums like MJs.
But anybody can sell their soul but only a select few could be in a position to tell Axl to shut up and sing, thats why I said that part was obviously about Slash.
The whole song is open for debate though, because it could ALL apply to Slash

...why should i trust those cheap sources you left here?

...the only way i could believe in this stupid lie is watching Duff and Slash talking about it,even though i don't imagine them giving an interview about C.D just 'cause it has nothing to do with them....(well,there are motherfuckers around who use the original name of the band and get money from it to date)  :smirk:

...fitting you're so wanker to say that we all believe in your argument just 'cause your poor mind thinks that that part of the song has to do with slash!...oh c'mon...give me a fucking break!    :retard:

....i sometimes think that you think you're axl rose while that only means that you're fucking crazy.....Axl is the only one who knows about the meaning of his songs...so you better shut up!

Just cause I don't put IMO after my every sentence doesn't mean I think everyone should agree with my theories. I don't personally give a fuck what the songs are about so enough about that. Here's a link where Duff says Chinese Democracy is great:

But I guess you think he's just an actor pretending to be Duff.

Same here!!!
Coma Rose this is not intended for you..I just wanted to quote your comment because I feel the same sometimes when I read this silly crap!!!

Actually the shit that some of you are spewing sounds more like hate to me.  I'd say it's like the anger most hard rock bands sing about. The older GnR albums express the same type of anger as far as I can tell.  Nothing new there.  Why do you feel it necessary to pick on this CD??  I think that's what Axl and the other band members who contributed to the writing of the Chin Dem songs intended to do:  get us riled up because that's what hard rock is supposed to do.  And so what, big whoop if he/they is/are expressing old anger...been there, done that.  Most of us have right?  In one way or antoher.  But not all of us could put it to music the way these guys and the old line-up did.  I'm just glad he/they did.  Why do you have to call people you don't even know names??  What's Everly or Seymour or Rose or any of them for that matter ever done to you?  Grow up..get a life for god's sake.  Say something substantial for one.  WILL SOMEONE PLS. SAY SOMTHING SUBSTANTIAL FOR ONCE!!!!!  Futhermore, some of these songs were probably written years ago .  That's not to say the same issues are still alive today and who the F cares if they are.  It's music...enjoy it for F sake!!!!

Questa l'amo..... (This I Love) which is not an angry song by the way!!!!!

I'm pretty speechless.

...all i can imagine is slash laughing at rose just 'cause the new album isn't selling 1 cd in u.s.a right now! there Ford and General Motors are planning to close and kick all their employees soon so can you imagine u.s.a teens and their parents buying the new gnr album? ....so i sadly guess that the record company and axl truly selected a bad time to promote it,all what axl had to do was show that album in 2005,that way everything wouldn't be so BLUR to him TODAY but he ever thought he could be the most expensive celebrity(but he's now noticed how much he was wrong about!)

....even most u.s.a people don't see new gnr promoting "the aswome album over there these times"

well slash actually listened to Chinese Democracy BEFORE it even came out!

OH MY GOD...how much crap is supposed to read/see about it?

...slash or duff won't stop hating axl no mater what someone else says...!

...slash couldn't honestly hear C.D before it even came out 'cause there are logical explanations like :

-axl wouldn't send a CD copy to slash just to hear it after all the funny shit that slash has told about him here and there!  :smirk:

-axl wouldn't invite slash to the studio while they were recording the album 'cause they can't even resist their voices on the phone anymore!

...so how much you believe about the shit that the internet offers you today?...

...I don't honestly think that Duff was clean while appearing on this interview to talk about CD, axl kicked duff wildly while gnr was dying in the 90's so today Duff wouldn't have dignity to say something cute about axl!  :paranoid:

...even though a retard guy can notice how many insults axl put on the album to make the original lineup think about its meaning!  :D
