this is CD.com which is a symbol of democracy. so express your feelings but in a respectful way toward the band and it's members and without any insults.

It was a bit much, same goes for when Axl said Slash should have left after AFD or Lies.

I really sympathize with Axl on this one.  Maybe he didn't put it in the best words, but Slash really is one of the reasons CD is selling badly.  All Slash's fans refuse to get their head out of their ass and give CD an honest listen, instead choosing to immediately criticize it without really listening to it.  Slash has turned many against Axl lately, and I think he had every right to say it.

most Slash fans do listen to the album (but i doubt that they bought it). check the GN'R section on the VR forum and pretty much everybody has given their opinion on each song.

I think Axl has turned more fans against him by saying things such as Slash is a cancer, or slash should have left after lies, etc...  Sometimes I think Axl is his own worst enemy.  How can a fan of slash not take offense.  He should know there are a lot of fans that liked both Axl and Slash. 

The more Axl talks trash the more I don't want to support his efforts with new GNR.  I don't think I will buy the next album at full price. I will wait tell it is at the pawn shop.   I may not buy concert tickets to new gun again.  I will protest new gnr by not supporting his music.  I will only buy material and concert tickets to the old guns or members except Axl.  That is how I feel after Axl ruining one of the best bands ever. 

If Axl does something with Sabastien Bach I will buy because at least he does good music with Bach.  New GNR has a lot to prove in my book.  A few good songs is not enough to make it worth buying for $15.   I will pay $5 at a pawn shop tell Axl proves his worth again.

Well, I think Axl could have chosen better words to express his fellings because some people think Cancer is too offensive.

Personally, I have no problem with that, I know exactly what he meant. And Slash was no saint ever since he left GNR, and after years of Slash talking shit about Axl, Axl has the right to express his feelings towards Slash.

But of course, for example, a person who's mom died of cancer would feel offended by that statement.

But me, not a problem at all.

Truer words have not been spoken.  I read Slash's book and I will admit that by half way through I was pissed at Axl and I didnt even know why.  But the second half of his book I realized how sneaky he was being about blaming Axl for everything; kind of like a cancer you dont see it growing at first but then when it matures you aint got no choice but to accept that it is there.  So Axl's comparison of Slash to a cancer makes perfect sense to me.  I think that VRs recent dealings with Scott are very telling on what Axl had to deal with, Scott hinted at that in his VR parting interview.

Not young.  I just did not like Libertad.  The second snakepit album was not that great so I did not follow that much eaither.  Most of the time during the snakepit years I spent checking www.snakepit.org when I was following that stuff.  I did not waste much time anywhere else back then.

That and I don't like that Axl called for the "silence" of Slash's supporters.
Must really fuck with him that people saw someone as equally vital to Guns N' Roses as the high and mighty Axl Rose.

Oh ok, the thing is that during the second snakepit era and Contraband era Slash bashed Axl a lot. And the guy put a book out, and even tho he don't call Axl a cancer in his book, by reading that you have an image of AXl as the bad guy, that fucks everything up;

And Axl was silent so that's why I don't see a big problem on Axl saying what he thinks right now.

On the libertad interviews Slash was with another attitude, when asked about Axl he'd say: "It's all good, let's talk about something else."

I mean, I'm fan of both. I wish they'd still be together and all that, but since they're not together anymore and Slash said things about Axl in the past, I think Axl can say what he thiks too.

I said you must be young because, now we can only see the interviews that are on youtube, but when Snakepit/VR was promoting their album they did lots of interviews much more than the ones that are on utub right now.

i really can't see why people can't see that 90% of all people that liked GN'R back in the day will always like Slash and what he did for guns. the reason i'd like Axl to rename the band is that Axl+Slash+Izzy were GN'R all together and i think it disrespects Izzy & Slash to to ignore their work in the band.

the way nearly all people see it:

Aerosmith = Steven & Joe

Zeppelin = Plant & Page

GN'R = Axl & Slash

Metallica = Lars & James

that will never chance. people will listen to newguns and to VR but nobody (except hardcore Axl/Slash fans) will recognise either band as GN'R. (yes many people say that VR is basically GN'R with new singer & name)

I am a die-hard Slash supporter but I do like CD. I would really like the Appetite or even Illusion Guns to get back together. But we all know that until everything is settled nothings gonna happen. I remember a time when I gave up on the thoughts if a new GnR record so I did regard Velvet Revolver as Guns N' Roses II. But now we have CD and I respect the guys who put years of hard work into the record, but its not the Old Guns regardless. No matter how much you guys praise Buckethead, Finck, or Bumblefoot. In my mind GnR is and will only be Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Steven. I hate to rant about this, but these guys are acting little middleschool girls. Spreading lies and rumors about each other, making the other seem vile and wrong. I think they both need a reality check. And there I rest my case.

i didn't quite appreciate Scott in Vr until he was gone. i have always loved STP but it wasn't until he was kicked when i learned that he was awesome in VR too.
