I personally wouldn't as I'm only a casual fan of the sport. But if it was someone's passion then I wouldn't begrudge them it.
For example I'm spending a little bit less than that to go to Nashville and have singing lessons with the guy who coaches Taylor Swift and Hayley from Paramore. Most people wouldn't do that but to me it makes perfect sense.
