Frank does have great energy when hes drumming with gnr,
but mabye thats just enthusiasm and excitement because he is in such an iconic band.

But what brain might lack in 'energy' (i .e getting the crowd excited)

he MORE then makes up for it pure technical skill and precision.

In my opinion there's no point in arguing about who is the better drummer.  Every musician always sounds better playing his own stuff as there's an extra bit of magic there - at pro a level even more so.  If on a future album Frank writes all his own drums parts a fairer comparison can be made - until then all I'll say is I really like the parts I know he did on CD and consider him to be a true pro.   

I think when you start talking about players at the GNR's level, you get beyond "who is better?" and it all falls into composition and your own personal preference for who's musical ideas you prefer.  And btw I also think this is true when comparing guitarists and bassplayers!
