Drunk Driving
« on: May 18, 2009, 10:40:01 AM »
Drunk driving is equivalent to playing Russian roulette with random innocent people, possibly kids.

:wasted:= get a cab, or preferably kill yourself instead of killing people that are taking their dog for a walk. Yes?

Ya, they are douchebags.

Really stupid thing to do. About 3 weeks ago I was coming along a back road and the driver in front of me must have been really drunk, its was a nightmare to watch, he was all over the place. I got his reg number but the cops told me unless they catch him there is nothing they can do.

It's a big difference if you're drunk or just a little bit tipsy (God, I hate that word)...

I've got no respect for some kids drinking Vodka-Bull in some shitty club and killing themselves
along with their friends while going 100 mph like idiots. That's what I'd call Darwinism in action.

But there's nothing worse than some friend chickening out on you after a nice Lobster dinner in
Los Angeles, costing you 80 bucks for damn cab just because Mr. Faggot thinks he can't drive
after two Grolsch.

I guess it's about reason and common sense -- you can't generalize things at this point  :?:

Generalize? If you are over the legal limit .08 you are according to the law drunk, aka drunk driving aka do not drive. That simple.

If you have a beer with your dinner, sit down for a good hour, I think you'll be fine, but this is not what we're talking about. Unless you're an extreme light weight you can handle a beer.

I'm not sure what we're talking about. You're talking about drunk driving. And bringing the arguments of lightweights and fat people into play -- I guess we're also quite uneven when it comes to the quantity of the consumed drinks.

If you're talking about 'sloppy drunk' or totally shitfaced, I might as well agree with you.
But there's also much in between so it's not really a black or white matter.

Like I said, if you are above the legal limit, do not drive. Actually I think driving after any amount of drinking is uneccessary and irresponsible. Alcohol lowers your reaction ability and you think you're so fucking awesome, the worst is when people say "I'm a great drunk driver, in fact I drive better when I'm drunk". NAY. You don't, everybody thinks they're good drunk drivers if they do such.
Yeah, ok guys, I'm also a great dancer when I'm drunk, yeah I'm fucking fabulous, when I'm drunk I'm better at everything!!

Light weight does not mean skinny or fat, light weight as in you can't handle much of the booze. It's obvious that having a beer and dinner probably will not affect you much, but I'm talking about giving yourself and your "friends" a ride home after a party/night out that involves alcohol.

I doubt if people are drunk, they're going to have enough senses to say "Hell, I could really hurt someone, I should call a cab"
Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

Depends on the brains they've got....

EDIT: Yes, Rocket Queen -- that's what I was talking about. "After any amount of alcohol".

The real question is if drinking is uneccessary after "not too much alcohol" or if those modern
pseudo-problems, people tend to make themselves are uneccessary. If you're above a certain
age when you're aware of your body and how it reacts, you can do things like that -- if you're
not, stay off the wheel or the booze, kids.

Most of those incidents involve young people and this has a reason folks  ;)

I drive fucked up all the time. You just have to be honest with yourself and know your limits.
A mans got to know his limitations.

You can't be shitfaced. Never. But you can def be buzzed and keep it under 70mph, windows down, Gn'R blasting, a joint between your lips...  :shy:

I HAVE gotten behind the wheel shitfaced once and pulled over into a 7-11 to sleep man. You just have to know for yourself.

And that "legal limit" shit is nonsense. They like use the bare minimum number and apply it to everyone. Never mind that person A gets "drunk" off 2 shots of whiskey and it takes 10 or so for me.  :disgust:

Oh my god. If you know that you are in danger of driving home do not bring your car there or hand some sane person the keys.

YES, I do stupid stuff when I'm drunk, but I don't ever, I would never get behind the wheels. You know that it's wrong and if you cannot be smart enough at the end of the night, take a bus there and leave your car behind, arrange a ride. No fucking excuse.

I have been all kinds of drunk allright, I know drunk, I know wasted, unless you are 14 you know how you react to substances and you learn to not do stupid shit like drunk driving. In fact drunk driving isn't stupid it's fucking selfish, getting in the car is basically like saying "hmm, maybe I'll kill somebody randomly tonight, or maybe I won't".

70 mph? Are you fucking serious? Where are you planing on driving 70 mph while smoking a joint by the way? I'd just like to know so I can stay the fuck away/warn people.

You don't seem to be getting the problem, when you are drunk/buzzed you overestimate your own abilities. You think that you're fine, but even if you're buzzed your reaction ability is reduced. Yes you can prob have a beer and be safe, or a drink or two if you plan on staying, but the point is while you think you have a buz you might in fact be quite drunk.
