Because as a feminist that i am, because i fight for egality, justice and respect, i think islam is the biggest misogyne bullshit ever. Why do they put cloth their heads ? the women have to be virgin for the wedding and men then ? women are damned to be 300 lbs heavy and wear cloth on the head and often also more, the arms have to be covered...
They have to do a lot of children, they can't say no and young boys learn to be dominant very early.
I can do a long list but i hate islam, it's a crime against hapiness, justice,liberty, beauty and feminity !

Of course Islam is probably the most repressive structure in the world when it comes to women's rights, with Christianity running in a distant second.  Religion has been used for thousands of years to control behaviour as a means of maintaining the power of the ruling elite, feel free to read patriarchy as one branch of this ruling elite.  But yeah. you're absolutely right, religion's treatment of any and all marginal groups tends to be abhorrent.

Yes,we know all Christianity has some awful aspects too,but you can't even remotely compare it to Islam when it comes to mistreating women.

Never heard of a catholic woman getting stoned to death as punishment for being raped for example.

I wouldn't attempt to, hence the 'distant second' comment, which was, I think, the only real mention of Christianity in this thread so far.

Having said that, barring another world war the Pope is probably going to be responsible for the deaths of more people in the next 50 years than the leaders of all the other nations of the world combined.  I'm sure we'll still be told to venerate him as God's avenging angel on earth or something though.

And the Catholic church in Brazil were insistent about a month ago that a 9 year old who fell pregnant after being raped by her stepfather should carry the resultant baby to term, they even chucked her mother and the doctors who performed what they considered to be a life saving abortion on her out of the church for not letting her give birth to something that was most probably going to kill her on the way out.

Well as a (former) Muslim I actually know how the women are treated, its not unlike the 1950s American housewife type crap. I don't agree with most of it, but its not as bad as everyone perceives either. They majority of the young Muslim population and the western/Euro Muslims don't treat the women any differently or worse than anybody else. Its just the older/Middle East/hardcore Muslims that adhere by the old laws, ala the veil, leaving the room when a man other than husband enters etc etc. Trust me, the younger ones/Euro Muslims don't really care about the old laws and are just like everybody else on most issues including how they treat their wife/girlfriend lol.So if your gonna get mad at the Muslims, get mad at the older, hardcore ones    Hope this info helps

Catholic church.   Well, that is the problem.  There is a big difference between Catholics and Christians.

Catholics are Christians.  I know not all Christians are Catholics but apart from the ludicrousness of transubstantiation what they believe is pretty similar, neither are too great with women, you might have noticed that from a cursory look at the Bible, or from the way the Anglican Church seems to be imploding over the idea of letting women do a job.
