The Iranian Elections: an obvious example of Corruption and Dictatorship

well let me tell you the whole story:

Yesterday was a horrible day for the Iranian people. by the time the election officials has announced the next president of Iran everyone were shocked and went into deep silent. It was hard for those who has voted for the first time in their life. they wanted a change and this time they didn't wanted to leave any room for the cheating from the Islamic Republic Hard Liners by casting their votes.

The theory was designed to gain the maximum vote against Ahmadinejad by concentrating their votes to the reformist candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi who has promised a liberal Iran and better international relations with other countries specially USA and Israel. "I felt that It's time for me to bring back the respect and faith in Iran and show the real Image of Iran and Persians which is living in peace and believe in no difference between the muslims, jews, christians and so on" said Mir Hossein Mousavi.

PEACE VS GLOBAL THREAT

anticipations went high and according to many statistics the forecast was: 75% Mir Hosein Mousavi - 15% Ahmadinejad and 10% the two other candidates. so before the election day and in the last weeks everyone were celebrating in the streets with all these mir hosein flags in all over the country and chanting "Ahmadi Bye Bye! Ahmadi Bye Bye!".

hours before the Officials start to count and announce the votes Mir Hosein Mousavi told the reporters that with the huge amount of votes comparing to Ahmadinejads he's with no doubt the winner and congratulated all the people.

Guess what? hours after mousavi's speech the supreme leader of Iran (main supporter of ahmadinejad) came on TV and said "I would like to thank to all the people who has voted. you people were amazing and showed your support for the government by your participation in this election. Ahmadinejad is the winner with 62% of the votes.

they claimed: the total number of correct votes is 45 million . 22 millions for ahmadinejad, 12 millions for mousavi!

then shit happens and still continues:

we got real elections; with real chosen leaders and we still get fucked in the *ss.
and when foreigners chose, democratically, the underdogs (ie hamas in 2005) we dont accept their choices and boycott their governements.

therefore any talks on democracy and freedom is pure sh*t, from either side.

democracy, freedom ... the only ones free are those with money.

Why must we assume that it's a false election just because the guy we wanted to lose didn't?

I get the impression that if some of the Western journalists in Iran to cover the election had actually tried looking anywhere other than northern Tehran they might have found massive support for the crazy jew-hater.  Or y'know, they could at least have made mention of the million people who turned out to see one of his rallies the other day.

This is not to say that I'm ruling out the possibility of fraud, just I don't think it's quite as clear cut as everyone who can't seem to get their head around the idea of people voting for anything other than being friends with America and the UK.

i agree with your statement. im angry more at the fact that people could actually elect somebody so radical. i do think that fraud is a very likely possibility, but its not clear-cut by any means.

because the whole world is being radical against them.
Anyway, there were massive frauds. Neutral iranians i know have also reported it. But President Ahmadinejad had a strong base of followers anyway. And he's the only one who can keep Iran on its feet, this "moderate" Mir-Hossein Mousavi (moderate in our dreams, he afterall is a pure product of the revolution) would have been to mellow to resist the on-going attacks of the US.

Hey GnrPersia
Hang in there
I saw a documentary about Iran last weekend, there's amazing people in your country and yes a few maybe too traditional ones who were upset because some teens were holding hands in public ... I understand change is just a matter of time. And yes it is very upsetting what's going on right now. Stay safe :paranoid:
