Awesomeness from Anything Goes with The Shamen, I do love that.

Uh, Bad by Michael Jackson's the first record I remember that was actually 'mine' and not just something that was kicking about my parents house.

Happily it's still funking awesome.

After that there was some Jamiroquai, The Prodigy and Oasis I think.  Until I was about 10 or 11 those were pretty much the only cds I owned.

Crossroads by Bon Jovi was the very first album i bought...on Cassette!! Played it so often, the tape wore thin and I eventually had to buy another copy. Must have been about '95. Fun times. I remember going into Woolworths and seeing the racks of Cassettes that were selling for about £10.99 each. CDs were like £14.99 in them days.  :disgust:

No wonder people eventually started downloading music...

was never toooo much into the poppy music shit... and i mostly just got people to burn me cds, but i can remember owning from elementary-middle school:

sum 41 - all killer no filler
kid rock - cocky (dont remember how i ever convinced my dad to let me have that one, haha. couldnt listen to certain songs in the car)
eminem - the slim shady lp, the eminem show

and of course, by the time i was in grade 6 or 7 (dont remember which, it was somewhere in there) i owned every guns n roses album, plus TSI? on vinyl....
And just like grim ascension prophecies
My revenge carved deep will be
A grisly plot that reads
Like my filthy white ward spattered with their screams
When My Deviliverers come from fog for me...

As a kid, you tend to listen to more poppy stuff. I remember I listened to Nsync and Backstreet Boys back in the day.

At the age of 10 or so, I had almost all of the vinil singls by the beatles.

:)

I loved them. And imagine ... you're making the expirience of learning a band that is not existant anymore ... and you're love them.

Considering the average age of the most members in this forum, this expirience should be similar to you with GNR ;) ... with one little but important exception ... even in 20 years, everyone will still knows who the beatles was.
