I was bored of it. But lately I have started to listen to it again and the more I do, the more I like it.

I know the album is great and it's way underrated.. but ain't fun [when you know that ur gonna die young...] when there is no promotion going on... like the dude said, I need a video or a single so that I can relate to something else than making up my on mind...
I'm definitely the voice of reality.  I post what most people think.  *shrugs*

I'll keep it here so I don't forget

I wouldn't say bored of it for me. The music (most) is good and its good to hear Axl but the thing that kills it for me is that so many of the songs are downers. I can't listen to it while working out and can't put it on at a party cause so many of the songs are depressing.

I wonder if their next album is going to actually be a rock album.

Do I get tired of it?
No. Never... I guess I'm a bit obsessed with it. I listen to it all the time. Not every day, but several times a week give or take...  I hardly listen to anything else.
I love it.
Right now I'm into "Street of dreams"

Anyone else getting different favourites on the album from time to time?
In one period it's "Better" then after a few weeks I'm sitting there thinking "damn, Prostitute is fucking amazing"

My favourites on the album are Better, Street of Dreams, IRS, This I love and Prostitute. These are the songs that have the greatest impact on me. The others are amazing too :)

A bit of relaxing with "if the world" is never wrong, just love the beat.. this also goes for Madagascar (being soft and relaxing to listen to). I don't quite like madagascar though, other than the melody.. I don't feel it tells me something..

But the favourites mentioned above, aah...
I have problems with my sleep on a regular basis. So I can sometimes sleep just 2-3 hrs in one night. So I get up, start the computer, and pull of som gnr songs. Halfway into Better I'm wide awake with a smile on my face and spirit filled with energy. I continue with Street of Dreams and then I'm ready for the day :)

I love that his songs can have such an impact.

I hope I'm not resurrecting an old thread here (the last reply was beginning of December, so it's not too bad!), but I wanted to throw in my two cents.

When I first got the album I listened to it non-stop for around a month, then for some (bizarre and unknown) reason I just stopped listening to it. Then, at the end of November 09 I started listening to it... again... constantly. I don't know if it was because it had been a year since it was first released or what, but it's by far my most played album at the moment.  It sounds possibly a little bit odd compared to the other stuff I'm listening to at the moment, but there's something that draws me back to it again and again. There just seems to be an undenyable (sp?) sincerity about it - especially the lyrics.  Does that make any sense? I have a habit of rambling!  ;)

Screw it.  I still listen to it every day.  But hell, I still listen to AFD, Lies, UYI I an II, and TSI on a fairly regular basis.  I may be atypical though, idk.

The only songs I'm tired of is Chinese Democracy and Shackler's Revenge. I almost hate those songs. All in all I think the album is a fucking masterpiece. I could listen to it all day. And I have. And I will continue to.

....

But I'm a little tired of If The World as well.... Just sayin.
As long as this road seems, I know it's called the Street of Dreams.

I listen to multiple songs everyday. My favorite album of all time, for sure.

for me the album shows that axl is not trying to be a rock star, he's creating art, art will always be analysed by the spectators.
jack white said in one of the white stripes songs (2nd album) that singers (artists) get the chance to set themself on fire but manage only to do the same thing every time. Axl is taking risks, Axl is not rehashing paradise city or resting on lorrels (spelling?) axel is forging ahead. No I don't think he's Jesus, but he is inspiring- make art- make people question everything!  God bless
