How did you feel when 'Oh My God' was released?

Just curious, i was listening to Oh My God earlier, and as great a song as it is, it really is very different for Gn'R, past or present
For those here who were fans of GN'R when Oh My God was first released, how did you feel about the song? Did you think Axl was going in the totally wrong direction with GN'R? Did you like it? e.t.c.

Agreed. If this was released under an Axl Rose solo project this would be fantastic.

When I heard "Oh my god" I said "What the !@#$". It was certainly a lot better than Silkworms though.

I was so excited, Iam a huge industrial fan, so gnr taking on that sound was amazing. Would love a whole album like that.

first impressions...it sounded like crap! the chorus caught my attention, but it felt a to predictable step for Axl to take and wasn't as good as other industrial bands/songs at the time. It would have replaced Scraped on MY Chinese Democracy.

I felt like... The long wait is over... It's 1999 and Axl is back!  And he's going to release a lot more music really soon.  I was more into hardcore so I didn't mind the direction so much, I thought man... This dude can still write awesome lyrics..  Watch out it's 1999 and Axl's back with a whole different version of Guns N' Roses. 

I had a strange dream last night Axl nstraightened his hair and was performing with GNR again rocking a banana.  He had also released another album that kicked the shit out of Chinese Democracy, but I couldn't download it anywhere, I had to buy it.

Hated it on first listen. Almost felt like crying. But, the more I listened to it the more it grew on me and I still really like the track. I would love to hear it with regular vocals and a better mix with more guitars.
