Overrated: I hate saying this cause I love him, but Robert Plant.

Underrated: As someone said earlier, Billie Joe Armstrong. Not a huge fan of Green Day today, but I love the earlier stuff.

i'm not sure. but i like Ozzy (on records), Plant, Gillan, Shannon Hoon, Axl Rose, Eddie Vedder, Brian Johnson, Bon Scott, Bruce Dickinson, Eric Dover and whole bunch of others better. being the best or the worst is an opinion thingie and Freddie isn't even on my top 20.

You have shit all in the way of taste or experience in listening to music if they are who you name as better than Freddie.

its very odd everyone is picking vocalists from rock bands only. id like to say billie joe armstrong isnt underrated he doesnt have a good voice he isnt a good singer but he doesnt need to be for green day. Plus who has ever counted chris martin or bono as a really good singer in the first place for him to be overrated. Im sorry as an actual singing voice which im pretty sure from the definition of vocals is what is important freddie mercury simply is one of the best singers ever to be in rock music genre. Of course if we are looking at other genres many people can be thrown in. yet most in the vocal section who have been praised deserve it. Not too sure who would say ozzy osbourne produced good vocals. Plus usually there is a reason why people arent counted as good singers and its because they cant sing.

Overrated....Rob Halford. Dude kicks ass but I dont think he's the best metal singer ever, as so many claim. The correct answer there would be Ronnie James Dio.

Underrated...Blackie Lawless.
Honestly, his technique and delivery are just incredible. Its half scream/growl, half melody....plus he can do ballads great too. Would kill to have his voice.

Wow this is interesting! But some said BJ Armstrong was underrated... I don't think he's that great, and thats coming from a Greenday fan!

And I dont think Weiland is overrated....

Anyway.... I'm thinking.... NAH I dont think I know of any singers that I think are over or underrated.... But I do know that Axl should be a household name Xp
As long as this road seems, I know it's called the Street of Dreams.

so many overrated and underrated singers....
Overrated: a tie between Bono and Freddie Mercury. Freddie was a good singer but not the god people make him out to be. Bono... is simpley boring. I dont get how people like him....

Underrated: im gonna say Dani Filth. Cradle Of Filth get shit on a lot, but if people actually took the time to really listen to the music and give it a chance instead of just assuming COF are just another metal/screamo band or whatever, they might enjoy it.

Overrated? hmm might take a lot of heat for it but Mick Jagger and Robert Plant by far. not that they arent good but yeah.

Underrated, umm a fair few newer singers but names dont spring to me off hand lol. Alice Cooper is definately very underrated in a million ways, and I always thought Billy Corgan had a great voice more so in the mid 90's but it's still decent.
