the point of this thread is not 'who do you like or not' but 'who is overrated or underrated'.

I picked those guys because I don't like their style and because I think they suck, but mainly because I also think they are hugely overrated. I hate what they are symbolic of. It's not just their vocal skills it's their stage presense, how they present themselves to the public and media and overall aesthetic. I hated when so-called metal bands started wearing shorts and jumping up and down a lot and adopting stupid fake growly voices, hence I hate Rob zombie and Mike Patton. I could also add Phil Anselmo on that basis - even though he is not particularly highly regarded as a vocalist (I basically think he sucks), he had too much influence.

Cornel just kind of leaves me flat - great instrument of a voice but the dude doesn't know what to do with it. no emotion. And he can't write a song that makes me care about what he is singing. Finally that hideous mustache was solid proof that he was pretty much aimless as an artist.

Ozzy I grew up loving in Black Sabbath but everything he touches now is tinged with the smell of his uniquely repulsive sellout media persona I'm afraid...
