Please answer my point. Why would you want to be judged by the standards of terrorists? Surely the point is that our western standards are better than theirs; why, therefore, should you wish to emulate their values?

We HAVE already been judged by them and by their book. Thats what you're missing. Its not about being fair.. its about reacting to whats out there.

I say that if anyone takes up arms against any flag in the world they forfeit their rights if caught and are subject to whatever penalties that country has in store for them.

We're dealing with extremely psychotic cowards. Their ways are engraved in their stone aged minds. Nothing we can do will change how they think or what they feel they deserve in this world. They basically feel that their "god" is with them and that anything they do glorifies him AND that they will reap the rewards if they die.

How do you combat that? In this case, you have to fight fire with NAPALM.

I don't get the sympathy these confessed terrorist get from anyone who enjoys living in a semi civilized, semi free to do as you wish world.

We could send an army of cloned Mr. Rodgers and Mother Terresas out there and they'd butcher them.

My way does shed blood but it would get results if we ALL committed the the cause of eliminating shit like this.

i agree with that last part. you can't always practice appeasment. like i have previously mentioned look what happened with that strategy in world war two. Due to appeasement by Britain and France Hitler almost turned the whole world Nazi. That strategy, while nice in the short term is not the way to fight people who are truly insane and a true threat. Look at history, its never worked before.

You however are seeking to act according to their rules.If it wasn't for a mixture of obfuscation, ad hominem argument and misrepresentation you'd have a point. aintitfun, not that i support appeasement in this circumstance, but your understanding of history clearly doesnt go much beyond 1933 (or 1931 if you want to include the manchurian crisis) for the general policy of appeasement post WWI. Comparing bin laden to hitler is ridiculous.

it actually does. for example, the united states won the cold war under reagan. why? because they instead of practicing appeasement they stepped up the arms race with the soviet union and wore out their economy. sure it was a different kind of situation, but the general idea was the same. the end of the cold war wasn't all that long ago by the way. if you can explain to me how in the few years since the fall of the soviet union a policy that throughout history has almost never worked will suddenly start working i'll be glad to listen. but as i just stated, using anti-appeasement strategies won the cold war for the united states.
