It was an interview over email. You have no choice but to think before you speak. You think about it while typing it. There is no good reason to come off as sounding like a dick when you are about to embark on a tour and kick it off in country you've never been to before. It was a very safe interview. Axl gains absolutely nothing from airing dirty laundry and dragging former bandmates through the mud in a media outlet that he has never been exposed to. If it was even him (it could have been anybody in the GN'R camp over email), it was a very low key approach to the interview and it was the right call.

it was in the thread over at HTGTH forum they originally posted the set list leak!
so i put in my 2 cents saying that i figured that Axl would stick with a similar start to the gig like 06 with "classic" hits since its the first time in Taiwan !! i referred to the interview saying:


After the band formed almost 24 years ago, how does it feel coming to Korea for the first time? There must be a lot of fans who would want to hear your old songs.

A: With the concert coming up, we've received a lot of comments on Myspace and our homepage from Korean fans. There are also requests for us to make sure we play specific songs. Actually, we plan to sing a few songs that weren't included in the original list for the performance at the beginning of the tour. Korea is a country we always wanted to visit, and now we're here. We can't wait to meet the fans.

i  was just saying that maybe later on the leg of the tour that it might change up to a more "Chinese" influenced set list!! 
those dude told me that the interview was as fake as Pam Anderson Tits!!!
