How do you think the crowds on this tour are going to react to the new songs? I'm no too sure to be honest. I know I'll be pumped when they play them but I'm not too sure how the majority of the crowd will react. I expect they'll be polite and just sort of stand there like on the previous Chinese Democracy tours. Hopefully Axl doesn't take this personally since he did nothing to promote the album. I just hope he doesn't ditch the new stuff after a few shows and go back to the AFD heavy setlist.

last time the majority of the crowd had never heard the new stuff, this time most of them will. how you genuinely think that the crowd will 'politely' stand there beggars belief. i dont expect mass hysteria, homoerotic orgies or even a little bit of virgin sacrificing, but i'd imagine they'll sing along to the ones they like, go crazy for the ones they love and go take a leak during 'if the world'.

only kidding. (they'll never play itw.)

Didn't they sort of play it in 2006 as an instumental before one of Dizzy's solos or something.

You're deluded if you actually believe most people bought tickets to hear Axl sing songs off Chinese Democracy. Most people outside these boards have never bothered with the album. If they had it would be getting consistent radio play and Axl would be playing shows in the US.

Deluded? Misrepresented certainly, but not deluded. I never said people buy tickets specifically to hear CD, i said they'd have heard of the songs and there'll be more of a reaction this time. Please don't invent things in order to further your rhetoric.

asian fans love everything GNR play, so I'm really not worried.

They've perhaps heard Better, CD, and SOD but that's most likely it. There's going to be a lot of people just standing around with a WTF look on their face when Axl plays the CD material. I just hope the lack of reaction doesn't dissuade him from playing the new stuff every night. It would be a shame if he went back to 4 or 5 songs off CD and most of AFD.
the album is out. millions of people have bought it. a concert ticket costs 5 times as much as an album, if theyre willing to pay for a ticket theyll probably have album. id imagine most of the crowd will have heard the album. you've got some cheek calling anyone deluded.

Yeah, I'm sure the crowds will be better and more responsive to the new stuff. There will always be a few people who fit into the small minority groups of people who haven't heard CD or don't like CD, or still think the old band is together. But the majority will be people who own or at least have heard CD. My opinion, Axl should just stick to what he has always done: a couple songs from each album, balance out the hits with some of the less popular songs, some instrument solos, maybe a cover or two as intros to songs and throw in one good rant and you got yourself a good Guns show. If the band is rehearsing good and they've been learning the songs then hopefully they can change out a couple songs each night to keep the setlist fresh and each show different, be mostly on-time and not have any shows cancelled due to lateness or riots and you've got yourself a good tour.

ITW sucks. Not sure how many people are gonna be singing along to the new songs, my guess is probably not most people. I'd be really surprised otherwise. Most people around Boston don't give a fuck about new GNR. Chinese and Better got some airplay but they came and went pretty fast here. Don't hear them very often... if ever. Last time the band came to Mass. like no one fucking knew it. You gotta fucking troll fan boards 99% of the time to find out what's going on with GNR so

We shall see

That all seems a tad too unrealistic. I expect the setlist will be the same, more or less, every night and Axl will go on sometime after 11pm each night. My start time prediction is more for the Canadian tour though; I've no idea how the Asian and South American time change will effect Axl in regards to start time.

I really think you guys overestimate how many people are really familiar with Chinese Democracy. I think you'll find that you will be in the distinct minority of people who are rocking out and singing along to the new material.

LOL. I love how it's like you know what you're talking about.

2Na is right, last tour they did when they played one of the new songs most of the people there didn't know the songs. I didn't actually expect anyone at all to know them but to my surprise, when looking around, i saw a few people singing to them. I dunno how many concerts you've been to but even when people don't know songs, they don't just stand there with their arms crossed nodding along. They go nuts regardless of what's being played. Not that this matters because 2Na was also right in saying that the majority of the people at a "Guns N' Roses" concert will have listened to the new "Guns N's Roses" album. I don't understand why you are questioning that? I'd of thought it pretty obvious.

GNR is a nostalgia act for most concert goers. They are going to hear Axl sing Welcome To The Jungle, PC, SCOM, YCBM and November Rain. New songs equal boredom and piss breaks for most people. You can usually feel the energy at a show go down when a band goes from a big hit to some song off their new album.

Once again, you're talking like what you say is fact without backing yourself up. You can't do that. Where are you getting this from?
