Blumblefoot twitter: Fantastic time in Argentina! Apologies to the fans in the front that weren't getting Axl's voice in the PA - don't know wtf happened, heard part of the PA had malfunctioned, or something with the angle of the speakers, don't know exactly, regardless of the reason, I'm sad that there were fans that missed out on the full experience. Understand why people were throwing stuff at the stage, to alert us there was a problem. Someone threw a shoe. Please people, if you're going to throw a shoe, throw BOTH shoes - one shoe is of very little use. Got to Lima Peru last night, Holy Shit. The airport was lined with fans behind a gate screaming, sooo many, what a fkn welcome!!! I went over to one and had a hard time removing myself from the clutches, was a little too much to work with, kept my distance expect for one or two dudes in an empty spot. Got to the hotel and signed a bunch of stuff and took pics with fans in front of the hotel, but DAMN, you guys are aggressive! Took the help of 4 security guards to keep it doable. Had some killa Peruvian sushi at 2am with DJ and Nick & John (Sebastian's bandmates), then just relaxin' n watchin' waves hit the shore 'til the sun came up. Gonna head out in a few for a nice dinner with the band. From what I've seen at the airport and the hotel, Peru may be the wildest of all. Show us tomorrow...!

Bumblefoot: A lot of people ask me for hotel & travel information so they can give us a greeting when we arrive. I appreciate the good intentions and thank you for it, but please understand, I *CAN NOT* give out this kind of information. It wreaks havoc for the other guests at the hotel, for people trying to work, and it's a security risk - if something bad happens, my actions would be part of why it happened. If you happen to find us, cool, but please be considerate of the other hotel guests, the people working hard at the hotels, and the security folks that are trying to keep you guys safe in the process. Gracias! OK, off to play some geetar, see ya's in a few!

not alot of people know this, but there's a secret code hidden in ron's message that tells us where they're staying for each gig.

PM nemo for details. If he doesnt get back within five minutes keep sending him PMs and he'll get back soon.

Axl: When he should be on stage...

On Friday 26th March 2010, @axlrose said:

Headed 4 Lima! Was great gettin' back 2 Buenos Aires!! The crowds everywhere on this tour r unique un2 themselves. Don't get much rowdier or energetic than here n' as w/ Belo Horizonte n' Santiago etc. very humbling. Sure there's excited idiots who throw shit or whatever but 4 the most part the fans r so enthusiastic, positive n' we mean so much 2 them it sets u bk n' makes u work hard to feel u can earn a small part of the respect they show u. So many of these shows we have trouble w/r sound on stage to b able to hear 'cuz the audience is singing along so loud which is amazing!! It's also nice to visit places that aren't as jaded n' influenced by peer pressure or media nonsense. They know what they like n' stand up 4 it rather than b told what they should n' shouldn't b in2. I grew up w/the preppies n' jocks w/their pink Izod's where Bowie, Cooper, Zeppelin etc. were considered garbage n' when The Cars, The Police, The Clash, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols etc were "gay", whatever. South American fans have always been so good to us, I'm happy we were able to find a way to play for those we've been fortunate enough to have seen so far!! Obrigado, Gracias n' Thank You!! N' to the officials who gave us extra time in Buenos Aires a triple Thank You!! Peace!!

Umm - not sure what planet he was living on where he thinks people ever thought Bowie and Zepp were "garbage."  I've never heard that before.  They were legends back in the day and still are today.

Have to wonder if maybe Axl was indulging in a few too many chemicals back in the day to remember??? Who knows. *shrugs* .....

Anyway, glad he's having a good tour.   :)

I like how he tweeted on the way. It's cool to get to see his state of mind right before he goes on.

There were ( as there are now) so many different clicks. He's the same generation as me. I know I was across the country in Cali and we would take our bands serious and our favorite bands were great and other's sucked vise versa.  He's talking about people that listened to pop music of the time primarily and they considered Zepp etc garbage. Guys would box over bands - among other things of course. We were dirty white trash blah blah

I went to high school in Dallas for a while. I walked into that school and they all stared at me like I was an alien because my hair was razor cut and dyed black and bleached white. Luckily there was a new girl from NYC. She was the rocker, me the punk and they loathed us and harassed us constantly. Sounds like Indiana was no different.

God I'm having flashbacks to HELL.

right he is talking about 'growing up' with clicks who look down on you for being 'trashy' with lack of better word.  most likely when he was in high school.   Indiana is big on football (college/pro) and college basketball...   so yea.
What are your current thoughts about Kurt Cobain?

Axl: I said I'm going on ChiDem now and he said whatever & walked away other than that I've been busy.

zep got nothing but hate from the media from day one to the last; people follow trends and they bought in to this.

I too am from the same generation as Axl, and I found people worshipped Bowie and Zepp when I was growing up. I didn't see the press or rock fans dissing them at all. *shrugs* ... I guess we all have different experiences.

Cheers.

Nice to see I'm not the only "old lady" .  :)  I pictured you as younger & mature for your age.  Shows we never know...

You sign off with "Cheers". It doesn't say where you are from, but that is generally assumed a UK thing. Though not always of course.

Maybe it's a cultural difference I wonder?

It's still the "Wild West" here in the US - it never left. The way people relate to each other is very territorial and somewhat primal. Well unless there is something that rallies a temporary "oneness".

It's a shame the world is like that.
