I realise its bad form to reply first to your own thread but i just read that apparently the vatican say the person who attacked the pope was "mentally unstable". This from the people who genuinely believe that red wine is magically transformed into the blood of the miraculously conceived son of god.

Wasn't that guy who belted Berlusconi the other day 'mentally unstable' too?  And the guy who slapped Leona Lewis a couple of months ago.

I have to say the lady who pushed over the pope is clearly unstable but not so much so as she doesnt want to hurt him or kill him just be close it seems as it was the scuffle that caused him to fall down not her.
Leona getting hit i did find kind of funny. Yet i did hear the berlusconi incident may have a been a setup to try to attract popularity. Both someone wanting to hit him and him scamming the public into feeling bad both sound very plausable so i cant be sure which is right.
Tbh plenty of sane people im sure have wanted to hit a famous person or a celebrity although rarely do they do it without aggravation. I for one know loads i would love to hit or throw eggs at and so on.

Out of morbid curiosity i watched the show last night. I could accept that she was going to be an awful documentary maker, but her questioning was dreadful.

It did produce one of my favourite moments in TV history ever tho. At the end of an interview with a girl who had been a forced prostitute for a year, Lohan was asked, "What do you do?". Cue a good 7 or 8 seconds of silence before she mumbles, "I'm an actress...and a singer".

Pope Benedict's personal preacher has compared criticism of the pontiff and Church over child abuse to "collective violence" suffered by the Jews. The Rev Raniero Cantalamessa was speaking at Good Friday prayers in St Peter's Basilica, attended by the Pope. Thats right kids. Apparently the group led by an ex-Hitler youth is being persecuted like the jews. You remember the persecution of the jews right? Well this is comparable according to the Pope's preacher.

I dont know if this is more offensive to the jews or to the thousands upon thousands of people raped by members of the church. Atleast the jews are kinda used to it, you'd think the church would be asking forgiveness rather than whinging.

i think it was the fact that the catholic church is being attacked as a whole for the wrong doing of a few in the same way that the jews were attacked en masse.

theres only two huge problems with this. namely, the church deserves to be taken to task for the whole gigantic cover up thing and the inference that there is a jewish world conspiracy, albeit ran by a select few.

mental. not as mental as transubstantiation, but mental nonetheless.

he probably was mentally unstable, and I wouldn't say they are unstable per-say, just stably insane. they are consistent in their belief in spaghetti monsters in the sky. but hey, who am i to judge, i think axl rose is a deity.
