Man fuck you guys. If it were Axl all over the place giving people shots to own his furniture and shit you guys would be loving it.

Slash is his own entity and is entitled do play on or do whatever he wants. If her were still in Guns I can understand you guys bitching about each and every one of the steps he takes with his career but he's not.

All I can read is a lot of bitter hate towards the man who helped propel himself / his band to stardom and has remained up there unlike the singer of that band who has become a mainstream joke world wide.

Fuck off with the hate.

I have no problem with Slash being on the Grammys, thats not my beef at all.  I think the performance speaks for itself as to why it sucked..

So an Axl vs Slash thread, only a mod wants his opinion to be seen so it is allowed to stay, and then he does not even respond to his detractors. I think this topic came up when Slash played with Fergie, Cypress Hill, and countless other times. Only difference is it was usually moved within minutes because it is not at all guns related. If I were to put VR paying patience on the front page im sure it would be removed. Anyhow....

Axl openly cheats on his wife and beats his dog" - I believe Slash is the one who openly discussed his infidelity. No one really knows much about Axls love life except what has been put together through his music, and its better that way.

This shows Slash is a has been - So what did the 2002 VMAs show about Axl? Hardly a flattering performance, and with his own band.

Slash=Leno - Axl=Letterman - 2 self made musicians with loads of talent compared to tv figure heads with top notch writing staffs to make themselves appear funny and sell ad space, I really don't think so.

Richard Fortus tours with Rhianna, thats ok because she is hot or something?

Axl at the 06 Vmas promoting his album and screams in again a  very unflattering voice, "do you know where you are". Does he get paid for that? And why doesnt he say Fuck, because the rules of the corporate prostitution and greed machine have restricted him?

You could go on for days and compare little things like this. Apparently Live thinks because Slash likes to be in the public eye he is a lying media whore corporate prostitute, and he is entitled to that opinion.

AS IF Axl never fucks up on the songs he sings.

Sometimes the dude is straight up terrible live but as long as he's singing its cool with you guys.

Don't try to pin this on his performance. If you hate HIM and his top hat and the leather and such then hate it honestly.

k ya got me there, my mind is not the same, lol, I honestly remember that is as voice being mickey mouse and not saying fuck, I guess its a case of the mind believing what it wants to. However, when did I say Slash did a good solo? It was as bad to me as PC with Fergie or cypress hill or whatever, which happened quite a bit ago, probably with the same exact axl vs slash hate topic coming up.

Besides that error, everything else is relevant. I never said Slash had a good performance the other night, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy when some who flame Slash are so blind to Axl's many imperfections, we have all seen them, and we love him for it. I feel the same about Slash, he does his own things and always has.

And +1 to what Iconic said.

Slash can do as he pleases. Still, that shouldnt detract from the horrible performance. Im not specifically referring to Slash, he's a great guitar player, but the entire thing... garbage.

Dman, i think your long post, a few up from this one, was a little dramatic. The overall setiment was fine, but the points made to support those sentiments seemed a little wayward. Firstly, 4tus playing with Rihanna is different because he is  session musician and hired live performer. Plus playing live on tour in that kind of setup isnt a promotion thing (im not bitching about promotion here, i would ahve liked Guns to have promo'd CD!!). 4tus will be unknown to everyone in attendance, there to see Rihanna.

The Axl dog beating thing is odd - i have no idea what you are talking about lol. His "voice" in that VMA scream, Killer's intro things seems fine to me, never did get the big deal with that... Anywho, im not into these Ax/Slash debates myself... lots of people, not just you, seem to have gone OTT in this thread. You are correct though, this shouldnt be in this section.

Yea it has gone off track, anyway my posts are all in response to Live Frees post on the first page, if you are confused or care to drop in on this debate, you should read that first.

i did read the first thread. I dont like the attack personally - not in this section anyway. seems a shame to throw this in here when all the other threads have got setlists, great videos and stuff - positive GNR stuff. And as i said, i agree with your overall sentiments.

Ah, thought you confused. I agree completely, a point I forgot to mention. Such a convenient time for this type of thread to be allowed on the front page, as it has been moved so many times in the past.

Anyway, go Axl!
