Wow I was just gonna make this thread, lol. Bronze for Bode, snowcross comin up.

Anyway the tv coverage here in the  U.S. is putrid. I remember a day when you actually got to watch all of the events and all its contestants. Now im watching Bob Costas and some woman tell a polar bear story. WE KNOW ABOUT POLAR BEARS, AND WHALES, AND SEALS, AND THEY EAT EACH OTHER, AND WHO GIVES A SHIT, and by the way, Mcdonalds, every Olympians favorite meal.... Oh and here comes 2 ski jumpers. Its seriously like 20 mins shit to 10 minutes of competition, everything is tape delay even though im only 3 hours behind so I happen to see the results anyway before I get to watch.

I swear I was watchin salt lake and nagano and was able to see most events in real time if I paid for it. Now I dont have the option.

Argh.. I was so excited, nothing to do for these 2 weeks except watch my favorite shit that only comes once every 4 years and this is the spectacle NBC has turned it into. Hopefully they do not ruin the hockey.

Well thats my monthly vent.. phew.
I sold my van to some guy down by the river...

switzerland are leading actually as they have won 3 golds which is what the final table is decided on.

Well.. every site I go to shows the overall medal count. If you want to go with gold though, yep, Switz gets it with their humble 3.

yeah there is a difference between the table now and the final table which is based on gold just. For example in 2004 olympics russia had 95 or something medals but only 27 golds so they were below china who had 32 golds even though only 62 overall medals. I wouldnt say humble due to the fact they have the most olympic champions compared to usa's 2nd/3rd best person at the olympics. Naturally that is more important to have 2 people finish 3rd compared to someone becoming olympic champion.

here is a proper table.

Well, 3 people do here at least, lol. Not to mention the sold out crowds that attend the events.

thats a pretty poor comment about a event that lots of people care about and love. Id tell that too the thousands who travel miles to see this event plus the millions who watch it on tv. For example imagine the billion plus chinese who loved the last games hardly nobody. And all the people who watch their athletes from their home nations.

Not really into the games themselves.. like, watching it..
But you should always rally behind your countries representatives no? And better in sport cause we all know the world doesn't want it any other way ;)

And those damn Germans are in the lead by total medal count now..

One thing i found odd/funny just now was whilst watching womens downhill skiing which is on currently incase anyone is interested. The first person to do a proper run without falling they continously said yes in gold medal position, in the spot for gold at the mo. Even though there are so many better to come seems odd continously saying that. We can work out she is first currently as the other person went flying off the course.

Alright alright! We killed yesterday and have the lead in total medals AND gold medals. I'm looking forward to us dominating the hockey as well. Our womens hockey team rocks.

And did the UK even send a full team to this thing?

AND! Sean.. your country Greece is holding it down with 0 as well.

ALL in the spirit of sportsmanship and good competition of course..  :shy:

USA! USA! USA! USA!

Yeah the UK did we arent very good at winter sports due to the fact we dont have many mountains or a sufficient supply of snow. The Uk care more about other sports that the USA dont care as much about. No country is good at every sport.
Anyway Canada women will win the hockey they have been absolutely outstanding. Yeah it must feel brilliant to be one of the best in the world at a sport that the majority of the world doesnt play. (im talking about ice hockey)
