Yeah the UK did we arent very good at winter sports due to the fact we dont have many mountains or a sufficient supply of snow. The Uk care more about other sports that the USA dont care as much about. No country is good at every sport.
Anyway Canada women will win the hockey they have been absolutely outstanding. Yeah it must feel brilliant to be one of the best in the world at a sport that the majority of the world doesnt play. (im talking about ice hockey)

Are you talking about womens hockey?

Haha, I guess you are just talking out of your ass now, I suppose you are not a hockey fan. Just because the brits suck at it does not mean its irrelevant. How's your basketball and baseball teams?

i am a hockey fan and im not saying its irrelevant im saying not many people play it so cant really be best in the world at something. The 48 mens and 33 womens teams are hardly the world competing at this game. You are simply one of the better teams of the cold countries.

If you count that as an important sport we could also count curling as one and then say woohoo what a victory over USA sorry to see you lose as that has 42 national teams but i dont because im not stupid enough to think that playing against 41 other countries is enough to be one of best in world.

In the UK we play rounders instead of baseball its just a game to play at school just as we count hockey as a game for girls. we dont really count it as a sport. Especially as only 44 nations compete.

Hows your football team coming along? I know you made it to the world cup but its not too tough to make it there when you only have to beat barbados, trinidad and tobago, guetamala, cuba plus some more terrible teams who you actually lost to 3 times in qualification.

Ive noticed with the USA for the exception of michael phelps, tiger woods, williams sisters they like to compete in sports that they dont have to play other nations that they might lose to. Eg nascar and irl (yet shit in f1 where they have talented drivers not just drivers who know how to steer left), basketball, American football (cant play rugby to save their lives probably cause they arent allowed to wear padding),

although pleased bode miller won his gold finally after 4 olympics.

We don't have a winter climate so don't expect us to be able to ski. We've done very well to get one gold medal as far as I'm concerned.

The US has the pick of some of the finest athletes in the world. No doubt. It's something that every American should be very proud of. It's not because Americans are superhuman or particularly gifted in any way, it's because you have high investment and fantastic coaching facilities. Lots of British athletes simply couldn't afford to train as there was very little investment up until Beijing 2008. Lo and behold, we came 4th compared to 10th in both 2000 and 2004.

Just goes to show what a little bit of money can do.

Germany is doing alright and I don't think it snows their too much.

American do well when we have athletes with the right mindset who do it for old glory.

Canada has the best Hockey players but we just whipped them too. 3 letters dude. U. S.A.

No excuses. We're shit at skiing and we just don't care.

You're absolutely right: Germany is as flat as a pancake and has a tropical climate. The fact that they hosted the Winter Olympics in 1936 is just a fluke.

Yeah course the fact germany have been picked to host past winter olympics and are preparing a bid for a future one must mean they have no snow. Iconic just wait till the world cup when you will be knocked out in the first round. No country is good at every sport just like the USA are really shit at football, rugby, cricket, motor racing, badminton, table tennis, etc.

Haha er european football was the previous form of american football plus mixed with rugby. You are good at american football because you are really the only nation that plays it which is why they dont have national teams. But yeah european football you are terrible at. The US have no chance in the world cup.

American football i really like but it is jsut a padded, safety, stop start version of rugby/football.

Im sorry that wasnt to you in particular it was to someone who stated baseball and ice hockey when im simply stating a sport the uk are good at that is actually played by all the world.

I was with you until this part.  Padding isn't needed in E Football and rugby cuzz they are all a buck 50 (150 pounds)  and they bounce off of each other.   American football if they didn't have padding people would be dead plain n simple
What are your current thoughts about Kurt Cobain?

They would be injured without padding of course. Rugby players though they are just as heavy as american footballers in their respective positions eg backs and defense and forwards and attack. There are often injuries in rugby like not sure if you saw just an example but in scotlands match in siux nations a player had a extremely serious neck injury. Im not saying padding is bad im just not seeing the idea of american football as a  tougher game. I think its good idea as i dont think they should risk their life for their sport due to the fact many have wives and children.

Dude, this isn't U.S. vs. UK, I picked basketball and baseball specifically because they are played by the entire world as much or more than any sport besides soccer. Soccer is as well, and it really is not fair to say the U.S. sucks at it, the program is rapidly improving, and I believe we are ranked 11th in the world. In 02 we made the quarters and actually played well against Germany, some would argue the U.S. deserved to win that game.

Thats fine if you dont consider Mens Ice Hockey a serious worldwide sport, but do not ignore the facts. The number of people who play and the money it brings in would back that up if you care to research it vs Cricket or Table Tennis(cant believe you used ping pong).

And I do not know what you are saying about the U.S. avoiding sports with large international followings? You mentioned Micheal Phelps, the Williams sister, and Tiger Woods, like they are a select few. Hmm, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampress, Monica Seles, Jennifer Caprioti, Gary Hall Jr, Micheal Johnson, Carl Lewis, Jesse Owens, Andy Roddick, Misty Hyman, Phil Mickelson, Prefontaine, Arnold Palmer, etc..., these are just a few of the top of my head.

Its clear you are jealous of the United States consistent success at the olympic level in many areas. I agree not every country is going to be good at every sport, because cultures are different. People like things that other people do not, I get it. But do not downplay our success by saying we only win at the sports we pick or like, or something like international hockey doesnt matter because certain countries climates do not allow the advantages of teams further north.

And isn't F1 predominantly european, why would you bring that into the question? How many countries can afford to fund an F1 team?

Hockey was a Womans sport in high school in England?
