Axl's live vocals overlapping eachother
« on: February 18, 2010, 08:07:25 AM »
I was just listening to the Toronto show and during Catcher it occurred to me that Axl's vocals suddenly seem to overlap
But it's not his studio voice I heard

Guns N' Roses 13-Catcher In The Rye (Live in Toronto Canada 28.1.2010.)

right after 3:14

It's just another day...
Like today
When
all is said and done

today and when seem to overlap eachother, how is that even possible when singing live?
I drink more than a little and less than enough

Probably some echo on his mic or just a backing track while hes singing

I wish the studio version was as good as this. Axl's vocals are so much stronger here, and the song is less muddy.

Damn.. I haven't been hearing ANY of the new tour stuff till this one. I love this song and the band pulled it off with flying colors in my book. Words are fucking gold.

It's not a backing track really. It probably more Pittmans doing. Because if he was singing with a backing track, frankly, the performance would have been better than that, even though I loved it.

I'm with Vorail... the 'aahs' in the background sound to me like the sort of thing Mr. Pittman might be playing using one of his fancy bits of kit where as the main vocal - although it sounds good - doesn't sound as, um, well timed as I expect a backing track would sound...

Having said that I'm sure I've heard clips from this tour of Shackler's and maybe CD where it sounds as if there's more than one Axl. Although nothing good quality enough to be sure.

Did anyone that saw them in Canada say anything about this?

Taped backing vocals or not Axl's on amazing form at the moment...

I like what Josh did, but I prefer Ratpigeon's feel.

I hope this stays on their song list for when they tour the US... the audience
is totally into it!
