Buckethead!
« on: February 22, 2010, 11:28:55 AM »
So i saw this video:

Buckethead and Brain Jam [original video]

And became interested in exploring Buckethead's material.

Iv checked Electric Tears and Colma already cause they were the albums that most came up on Youtube.

but where should i start? and is there any Buckethead album that has Brain on the tracks also?

I just love the way they work together! Especially in that video.

Thank you

Brain is featured on quite a few Buckethead albums.  On Colma, he plays drums for the track "For Mom" (maybe more tracks but I'm unsure).

Start with "Dragons Of Eden", Praxis - "Transmutation", "The Big Eyeball in the Sky", then "A Real Diamond in the Rough".

Don't forget "Giant Robot NTT" which is a free album and can be found here:  http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NJVSTWSS

Here's all the Buckethead related albums that feature Brain;

Ben Wa - Devil Dub (1999)

Brain - The Worst Drum Instructional DVD Ever (2007)

Buckethead and Brain - I Need 5 Minutes Alone: Pieces (2002)
Buckethead and Brain - Kevin's Noodle House (2007)

Buckethead - Colma (1998)
Buckethead - Monsters and Robots (1999)
Buckethead - KFC Skinpiles (2001)
Buckethead - Cuckoo Clocks of Hell (2004)
Buckethead - The Dragons of Eden (2008)
Buckethead - A Real Diamond in the Rough (2009)

Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains - The Big Eyeball in the Sky (2004)

Giant Robot - Giant Robot NTT (Featuring Pete Scaturro on keyboards) (1996)

El Stew - No Hesitation (1999)

Science Faxtion - Living on Another Frequency (2008)

Praxis - Transmutation (Mutatis Mutandis) - 1992
Praxis - Sacrifist - 1994
Praxis - Metatron - 1996
Praxis - Live in Poland - 1997
Praxis - Transmutation Live - 1997
Praxis - Warszawa - 1999
Praxis - Tennessee 2004 - 2007
Praxis - Profanation (Preparation for a Coming Darkness) - 2008

Enjoy!

Inbred mountain is another really good one, one of his best imo.

Nice Raiden avatar CITR.  I just got a PS3 and MGS4 last week, almost beat it and it is awesome.  Hopefully the new raiden game is on the same level of greatness as all four mgs games... i'm very skeptical of it.

The album I usually suggest for first-time listeners is Enter the Chicken, it's the most accessible. (Well, maybe "The Hand" does not fall into that category, even though it's the best song on the album :P )

Elephant Man's alarm clock is great also.
And Acoustic Shards. And... oh fuck it just download the discography and put it on shuffle.  :smirk:
You should make your tag line something to the effect of "Kov's realism, shattering idealism everywhere."

I'd have to say Enter the Chicken would be one of the last i'd recommend, i'd say Population Override or Crime Slunk Scene
