Aerosmith made their live return last night at Estacionamiento del Poliedro de Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela. The full setlist ran:

1. Back in the Saddle
2. Love In An Elevator
3. Falling in Love (is Hard on the Knees)
4. Walkin’ the Dog (Rufus Thomas cover)
5. Pink
6. Chip Away the Stone
7. Dream On
8. Livin’ on the Edge
9. Crazy
10. Cryin’
11. Rag Doll
12. I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing
13. Sweet Emotion
14. Stop Messin’ Around (Fleetwood Mac cover)
15. Last Child
16. Baby, Please Don’t Go (Big Joe Williams cover)
17. Draw the Line

18. Walk This Way
19. Train Kept A-Rollin’ (Tiny Bradshaw cover)

All the classic Aerosmith songs and they fill the set with four covers and four fucking ballads? The one two punch of Crazy and Cryin is unacceptable.

not at the o2. Perry and Tyler were jokin around, and at the end of the gig, Halfin took a photo of the band with the crowd behind them that Joe said was gonna be on the cover of their next album.

Someone wake me up when Tyler records something as authentic and full of heart as Rock In A Hard Place.

Man, this band should just break up for good.

I never before realized quite what an asshole Joe Perry is. What is his problem? I can understand that he might have been stressed as recently some old woman stacked into the back of his motorbike (and he sued her), and I try not to hold his republican supporter stance against him too much, but seriously if he is so obnoxious how does he expect Aerosmith's much-anticipated next album to be any good? Just the total lack of humour of the dude. Just saying.

Tyler should break up the band after the album and start a new one.

Aerosmith might have had a big re-surgence in the 80's and somewhat of one in the 200's, but I think we can all agree that the magic completely disappeared as soon as the collab'd with dmc on walk this way. Still I'd like to go see em just so I can hear the older, awesome shit.

seeing them in mid september, in vancouver! stoooooked!
And just like grim ascension prophecies
My revenge carved deep will be
A grisly plot that reads
Like my filthy white ward spattered with their screams
When My Deviliverers come from fog for me...

The first apparently sober album Done With Mirrors had some sparks and was hampered by shit echoy 80's production but for the most part it was pretty uninspired and shit. They had lost the magic some time in the drug haze period when perry and Whitford left and once they apparently all sobered up and reformed it wasn't the same. It was more like reluctant professional relationships.
And recent events bear out the thory that that is how it has been since then.

I'm glad that the original GN'R didn't stay together like Aerosmith.

The collab with Run DMC was in '86, and jumpstarted the resurgence in their popularity...

Back on topic, anyone know how long their show usually lasts?

Only because they got shitloads of mtv exposure thereafter with several slick videos, not because the material was particular stellar which it definitely was not.
