Chilean Earthquake
« on: February 27, 2010, 11:32:00 AM »
BBC News - Massive earthquake strikes Chile

Has killed at least 122 people so far. Seems rather serious and would have affected a lot more had it been in major city. The tsunami caused by it seems to maybe have killed a few people on a nearby island

Reports seem to be inconclusive at present. Some say that the tsunami is imminent, some say it's happened already.

Aftershocks will be the main worry now.

Good luck guys. Chile is an awesome place. I'd love to visit one day.

After hearing about Haiti constantly (and getting sick of it) and now this happening, I really couldn't care less about it, it doesn't bother me the slightest.
I'll admit that does sound rather selfish but hey, thats just me I suppose.

Death toll is up to around 700 now. Im personally more sad about this even though the casualties were many times in haiti. Due to the fact i have personal chilean reasons to  be more upset.

Wonder if GNR and janes addiction will give any profits from the concert to the towns it affected.

Last I heard, America did it with our earthquake machine.
Hooohaaa!

And.. sucks for those people. I've always wanted to experience an earthquake but not where I live.

I love hurricanes...  but in the North East its hard to get hit... but had plenty of close calls which makes for funky weather and beach erosion, big waves and little destruction.  Its very fun.    My dad was hit in Florida...  I guess I wouldnt want to be there... now there houses came down and his house caved in while he was hiding in the closet with people and the dog.

We had a small earthquake in the UK in 2008. I thought either our boiler had exploded or maybe some kind of terrorist attack was happening in our house.

Shit has to be nuts man. A one of a kind experience though it does bring with it so much destruction.

My personal faves out of the natural disasters is the tornado.
Shits are just HUGE spectacles that always leave me in awe.
