The Used is fucking sick. I wouldn't strictly classify them as an emo band, they have a lot of hardcore eements in their music too, especially their earlier stuff. While you're probably right about Liars being the best album for a ne listener to get aquainted with the band it is far from being their best album. It's still good, but there is also a lot of filler on there , at least 4 songs (ripper, earthquake, smother me, wake the dead) and im not too fond of hospital either. my favorite is either the self-titled debut or In Love in Death, both classic albums with a lot of agression as well as emotion. and not a bad song to be found on either (with the exception of cut up angels on ilad which is just a miserable excuse for a song lol) that poetry in the beginning makes me wanna slit my own wrists. I saw em live and they put on such an amazing show, one of the most high-energy, crazy shows i've ever been to. On par ith All That Remains and Killswitch for intensity. I'd definitely recommend the band to anyone who is a fan of metal of any kind, or really to anyone who is a fan of quality music couldn't dislike them.
