is "Sorry" dedicated to Slash?
« on: March 02, 2010, 07:40:06 PM »
I would like Axl to tell us a bit more about this song and i don't think he will read up the song discussion thread. I've seen a lot of nonsense posted here in the news section lately so might as well post something to make you think about.makes a lot of sense.. read up the lyrics.. it's not meant for a woman. (i kick your ass like i said i would? i don't thinks so) Only Axl can tell...

well i still think the "shut up and sing " part goes to Mr Hudson

i mean the dude wrote a song called "What the Hell do you want to be " on that snakepit album , and the lyrics kinda hit home

He said none of the songs on CD are directed are just one thing or one person specifically, there are several meanings to each song
And just like grim ascension prophecies
My revenge carved deep will be
A grisly plot that reads
Like my filthy white ward spattered with their screams
When My Deviliverers come from fog for me...

Right, he said none of the songs is about just one particular person and I believe that. On the other hand, is HAS to be about some concrete people, right? And take a look at the part someone's cited already: “just shut up and sing” â€" and then remember Axl's Dec. chat when he said he was told (by Slash) just to sing on the songs that'd been already done â€" or fuck off...
Well I dunno but this would fit, wouldn't it... Hell, what would be a forum for if we couldn't run some conspiracies here.

From the very first listen of Sorry to now I believe that Axl is singing about people in the media and all their conspiracy theories about Axl and Chin Dem.  I think the line "shut up and sing" references members in the media complaining about his ranting from the stage.

Well to me Sorry does have different meanings to different people but i think that some are to slash for example :
"You don't know why
I won't act the way
You think I should"
&
"It's harder to live
With the truth about you
Than to live with
The lies about me"
& most of all
"Nobody owes you
Not one goddamn thing
You know where to put your
Just shut up and sing"
--I think that slash may have told axl that at a certain point in his life, and i think tht it does have a lot to do with slash

as 4 prostitute i think its about a woman who supposedly "loves" him but is just with him for the money
"Ask yourself
Why I would choose
To prostitute myself
To live with fortune and shame
Oh yeah
When you should
Have turned to the hearts
Of the ones
That you would not save"
--like a lot of actresses are *cough* stephanie seymoure *cough* *cough*

but thats just how I see it :)

I think is also about how they sell us ideas on how should we behave/act and why. It's just a matter of perspective and since it's called Chinese Democracy...
