Chinese Democracy "cold" sound/vibe vs AFD and Illusions "warmer" sound/vibe

Does anyone think that Chi Dem sounds too cold/stark and clinical...as appose to the warm/endearing or looser sounding AFD and illusions CD's?....I prefer the warmer sounding tones over the clinical, precise notes in the perfect place…vibe the new CD give off… any thoughts?

I think that's partly from the technology used in today's music.  In order to make a record that sounds like Appetite, or "Rocks" in Aerosmith's case, a band would have to use the same exact mid-70's or mid-80's recording technology.  Slash and Izzy could go back and record something with Axl and it probably wouldn't sound anything like Appetite because of the newer technology.  Everything sounds different or "better."

Don't get me wrong, Prostitute, better and TWAT are three of my favorite Gnr songs we have to date...it just feels a "cold, heartless SOUNDING record....the warmth I get listening to AFD or the Illusions...really draws you in...more than the stark, clinical sound Axl has strived for on CD....

I personally feel that the majority of song on CD are reminiscent of the Illusions era yes CD is still a big Difference but that's 14 years of musical progression...

I remember posting in a simlar thread that I sometimes imagine what CD would have sounded like with the exact production on the Illusions albums. And in my imagination it sounds awesome.
