These words are not mine, but my ex girlfriends. Her comment after reading this was just to great to not post it. "This bitch is a cum-guzzling gutter slut." Haha.

"I hate you for growing older Axl Rose",

"If you like G'nR now you must have a mullet",

"Yes, millions of people around the globe bought the album but they don't really like it. They can't because I don't (not that I'm egotistical like that Axl fella)",

"Why did they have to give up the heroin just when it was becoming cool? I mean, look at what it did for Kurt and Coutney!"

"I paid 12 whole dollars or whatever for Appetite for Destruction and my overdeveloped sense of entitlement demands that this artist should stay firmly rooted at the point where I liked them most (before I jumped onto another bandwagon)

Fucking Cobain nuthuggers sicken me with their revisionist history and pious, sanctimonious drivel.
Is she trying to be Chuck Klosterman? Cuz she aint even close.

lol loved where she said the only people who consider this GNR are people clinging to the past. Complete opposite in my mind. Doesn't make sense.

Shes basically is calling us idiots because we still like the band and she doesnt. I usually do not like something because it was good 20 years ago.

And yes, she couldnt have been more bassackwards with that statement. Anyway, who is this bitch, and why are we even commenting on it? Is she big time?

There are many things one can criticize Axl Rose for, and at the start of the article she made it sound like she was an "insider" who had some interesting stories to tell, even if they didn't reflect kindly on Axl. I am certainly not one of those that lashes out at anything negative, if it's got some substance to it.

Unfortunately, this entire article is pretentious, melodramatic drivel.

This has pissed me off for a few reasons. The first being that this person has written some irrelevant bullshit in what is basically a blog and that i am now pushing it further up this forum by posting this reply.

Love or hate CD or GNR i have never met anyone (fan or not) who would question the integrity of Axl Rose. I might be wrong as I do not know the man but after 22 years of listening to the music I believe he does not give a fuck about what people think. He says what he wants, he does what he wants. If he has no integrity then why was CD not realised 10 years ago? Why did he not promote the fuck out of it? Why did he not bring back Slash? WHy does he not talk with the media ? Why does he not appear on tv. Why does he opt to anwser fans questions on forums?

I read something somewhere about enjoying your legends while you still have them.

Don't get a heart-attack. Some people are idiots and some people are assholes. And some other people manage to do the best job being both at the same time. Think of something else like the incredible incredibility of ROCK or the variety of cake. I'll do.

... My real lust for the band kind of faded right around Civil War. It was then I realized that Guns N’ Roses was the equivalent of the girl who teases you with her perky breasts for years and when you finally manage to get under the hood, you grab hold of three inches of padded bra. All that music before Use Your Illusion II was just a ruse to get us to this point. They gave us the good stuff first so they could later on sit back and make this pretentious, melodramatic drivel that they called art. There was nothing left to them. Empty D cups....

For me - I actually prefer the Illusions albums over AFD.  I love AFD, but  I find the lyrics deeper and more meaningful in the UYIs.  So, I have to admit I don't understand this person's comment about the Illusions albums being second-rate or "pretentious."  *shrugs*

.. He accompanied Buckethead on a jaunt to Disneyland when the guitarist was drifting toward quitting, several people involved recalled; then Buckethead announced he would be more comfortable working inside a chicken coop, so one was built for him in the studio, from wood planks and chicken wire.

That excerpt alone is what symbolizes both Axl Rose and the whole warped evolution of Guns N’ Roses. Ridiculous excess, indulgence, pretentiousness and the penchant for extending the idea of making an album to such ridiculous heights that, somehow, building a chicken coop for Buckethead seemed like a good way to spend money....

I think she makes a few valid points here.
I never thought Bucket "fit" with the band, and he had zero chemistry onstage with the other band members.  And Bucket's ridiculous, self-absorbed antics in the studio - ranging from the chicken coop to the porn films to the dog poop he insisted on keeping in the studio  - showed he really had little respect for the other band members who were trying hard to finish the album.  I wanted to crack open the champagne when Bucket left the band - Best thing to ever happen to new GNR.

Quote
..   The mere fact that Axl spent 14 years and 13 million dollars of someone else’s money making what amounts to a mediocre tribute to his own ego is all anyone needs to know about the mindset of the man..... , the legend of Chinese Democracy was a tale bigger and grander than the sum of its parts.  I thought it was bland, lifeless and sad, desperate attempt to recapture the hearts and minds of the people who swayed along to Sweet Child of Mine but who refused to acknowledge any Guns N’ Roses that didn’t include Slash. ...

I thought CD was a great album - certainly better than anything else being released right now.   That being said - Do I think that in 10 years CD will be among the "collector's must-have" albums the way AFD is?   Nope.  It's a good album, but I have to admit that I don't think it measures up to GNR's earlier albums.

Ummm. No offense - but it would have been cool and more respectful if you had taken the time to read her entire post (not just three lines) before passing judgment and writing her off as irrelevant. jmo.

Cart before horse on this one. She's an irrelevance, therefore anything she says is irrelevant. She's neither in a position of knowledge nor is she an artist for whom i, or anyone, should give the time to read her opinion piece, which is all it is. Hers is little more than shouting in an empty room, hoping that someone will hear her, unaware of the futility.
