Leeds Festival

Hi guys, the rumours have been flooding around for ages, and efestivals- the guys who get the lineup first every single year, have posted this confirmation thread in their forum.

"Headliners are:-

Guns and Roses
Arcade Fire
Blink 182.

The Libertines are 'special guests'. "

You will know in 3 and a half hours, but if GNR don't get announced, it'll be the first ever time they've got it so wrong.

Yeh so I've just read- that's disgraceful. Kinda buing tickets with blind hope that the rumours are correct!!

I think I'll buy one then if its a shocker, sell the ticket on, but I dont think there'll be any problems.

Great stuff. At first I thought I couldn't go to Leeds but I have a cool manager who thinks that a GN'R show is enough for me to have a 'day off for personal reasons'. Getting a day ticket for the Friday at Leeds and Sunday at Reading. Hope to see some of you there!

Also I'll be buying the tickets in faith before the line-up is announced, if it's  wrong then they will be ebay-ed.

Secondary ticketing company viagogo have today (Monday) announced the renewal of their deal with Festival Republic to continue as the official ticket exchange partner of Reading, Leeds and Latitude festivals.
The landmark agreement, first announced in 2009, combats ticket touts and online scams by providing a safe and secure platform for the resale of passes.

Tickets for Reading and Leeds will go on sale this evening at 6.45pm and are expected to sell out in under an hour.

Fans will be able to buy and sell Reading tickets through viagogo here and Leeds tickets here.

Speaking about the deal, Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic said: "viagogo has helped us all but eliminate the issues that we have had in the past with fans taking their chances online and being disappointed after ‘buying’ non-existent resale tickets.

“We are working with viagogo again this year as the only recommended and official ticket exchange for the Reading, Leeds, and Latitude festivals. If fans use other ticket exchanges or buy from unauthorized agents they risk being defrauded and not getting their festival tickets.”

viagogo (www.viagogo.co.uk) is not a primary ticket seller but allows fans to buy and sell tickets in a secure environment.

The site guarantees the transaction and delivery of tickets so fans who buy will actually get their tickets, and fans who sell will actually get paid.

viagogo promises that it will not sell a ticket it doesn’t have.

Good luck getting tickets guys. Its always fun.

Oh,  and the bad news is there are vicious rumours that MCR might be on before.  Lets hope not.

I read an article yesterday saying they're ruled out.

I actually like them, but I dont think they would necessarily be the right band to have on before a headliner in terms of mass support, lol.

I'm interested to see the sort of bands they'll be putting on before GNR- there aren't many similar bands out there, any suggestions?

going by previous years the rock acts normally do Leeds Friday and Reading Sunday, but since the tickets are on sale a whole 15 minutes before the first announcements I'm a little sceptical as to putting money forward for a day ticket when they might not be performing....it'll be a tense 15 minutes
I've been gone a long time, but I'm glad to say I'm back, because whatever happens in the outside world I'm still a Guns N Roses fan

Glad to hear it. Have you a link?

I guess the thinking behind that one is their both quite theatrical in a sense. If one of Axls grudges wasnt with Josh Homme we could be seeing Them Crooked Vultures/QOTSA.  Though because it is, im stumped.

Yeah as someone said traditionally the 'rock act' plays Friday Leeds and Sunday Reading, and GN'R played Friday at Leeds in '02.
The guy quoted in the OP has been spot on about naming acts year after year so I'm happy to go with that. Even if GN'R don't play tickets will be in high demand so pretty easy to get rid of mine.
