UK General Election 2010 - The Cyclops Vs Lord Snooty
« on: April 04, 2010, 01:40:33 PM »
There's no need to think about who to vote for; just fill out the form and see who you agree with.

http://www.votematch.org.uk/2010/index.php

I got the green party, followed by labour and then the lib dems. I'm a pussy.

I'm registered to vote at the moment in a completely safe lib-dem seat (Gordon, NE Scotland).  Since I'm not living in the UK right now and I know who's gonna win that seat already I'm not sure I'll bother going through the rigamarole of proxy voting or postal balloting or whatever I need to do.

If I do vote, it'll have to be lib-dem, just to make sure the Tories didn't somehow sneak that seat.  On the question of who I'd like to win the election, no idea; not the tories, not the bnp, not ukip.  I have no real desire to see Labour returned to power again, I don't think Nick Clegg is actually a liberal, I don't fancy the SNP's chances.  No-one really tickles me I'm afraid.

Being as only 2 parties have a chance, I'd take Labour over the Tories.

with the exception of the "living abroad" bit - im in a identical situation. Collin Breed is the Lid Dem down here who has had the seat for as long as i can remember i think!

Best pre-election story thus far comes out of the BNP... apparently one of their prospective candidates has been arrested for plotting to kill their party leader Nicky G and take his place as the fairy at the top of the fascist Christmas tree.

Ah, say what you like about the Nazis, but those fuckers sure knew how to organise and film a parade.  I still think Triumph of the Will is the most amazingly shot and put together documentary I've ever seen, over and above the likes of Life or Planet Earth or any of the other BBC nature shows.  In fact it's got to be one of the greatest cinematographic achievements in the history of film.

Ah, yes.  The holocaust.  Frightfully embarassing that one was for us... Not sure we'll ever live it down.  I told Adolf, I said 'Adolf, old chap, really.  Can't we just send them all to the middle east and let the camel-jockeys take care of them'  Wouldn't listen, would he?  Dead stubborn he was.

Did I ever tell you the trains used to run on time when he was in charge?  Oh, you could set your watch by them, you could.

I can't vote because I was out of the country when the registration forms went out.

Doesn't bother me. Whoever gets in power will have one hell of a hard time sorting the economy out.

What they say in the run up to the election means fuck all because there will be emergency budgets after. It's really about who you want in office. They're telling us what we want to hear at the minute to win votes. David Cameron is the face of a very ugly organisation, and I hope that the voters see through it. Gordon Brown is the ugly face of what should be a great organisation. Nobody knows what Nick Clegg's face looks like.

Anyway, don't take this one at face value.
