I have no idea who to vote for. Labour have failed me, the Conservatives I simply cannot trust. the Lib Dems have no bloody experience.

I wanna see a party stand up for our country with some common sense policies. They keep saying they're being tough on crime but we're bloody not. We're full of chav scumbags and immigrants draining our fucking welfare system but no one seems to give a damn.

We're need an efficient econmic policy and we need to stop being so bloody soft. You wanna come to England? You work.

You don't like that? Piss off.

And that goes for anyone, white, black, pink, green whatever.

The Australians have got the right idea- they have a better economy and less unemployment.

Y'know, if you're gonna go off on one of those 'chavs, immigrants and slackers' rants, it would perhaps reflect slightly better on your intelligence and understanding of the issues involved if you at least knew the name of the country they're fighting to be elected leader of.

But it sounds to me as though UKIP would probably suit you just fine, alternatively I'm sure the EDL are fronting a candidate somewhere of the BNP haven't subsumed them already.

Gonna register and then vote Lib Dem.

I've voted for Labour twice, but they've really fucked this one up. Tories are just plain evil.

Lib Dems may not have much experience, but they've got Ashdown working behind the scenes, who is probably one of the finest statesmen this country has ever produced. Vince Cable has a fantastic model for the economy. The Civil Service pretty much run the country, so inexperience in politics isn't a problem.

Clearly you think I'm the standard 'Sun Reader'.

I'm about to do a dissertation at University on the British pension system at the moment and will hopefully find out a few things about parties, politics, manifestos, success and failures, so I hope that reassures you that I'm not one of these people who jumps on a bandwagon and wants out with everyone who has come to the UK . I know my last post probably sounded angry and not too dissimilar from the average Joe, but seriously, the United Kingdom is a mess. Let me make clear though that I do not judge on race, or anything like that. When I referred to making people who come here work, I refer to everyone. Why should we provide for people who offer the country nothing? That is what I meant when referring to the Australian system.

Look at the economy. Granted, the world economy has taken a downturn, but what I want to see is Britain looking after itself so that it is less reliant on the rest of the world. We have no industry, we have an NHS system that simply cannot deal with the numbers we have, we have state benefits keeping the idol idol, and the youngsters pregant. What I'm saying is we need to toughen up for a SUSTAINABLE system.

It's time for us to rule with some common sense and for the benefit of Britain, rather than be this bunch of softies who stand for everything and anything.

Just discovered that Libdems won't extend Trident if they get in.

Looks like I'm voting Labour now.

Dude, fuck Trident.  That's a massive hole in the budget that we just can't fucking afford at the moment.  the amount of money we'd be wasting on something that will never, ever be put to use is eye watering.  We've got a pension deficit to fill, a national health service to improve, our actually defence forces are underfunded, we absolutely need to completely revamp the public transport system across the country.  Give the trident money to places where it's actually needed rather than blowing it on showing off how big our collective national cock is.

Sorry I'm not completely up to scratch Mooney, I've been living under a rock in a different continent for the last 3 years.

If we didn't have Trident, we'd be invaded in seconds. Simple. Nuclear weapons or smugness. I know which one currently keeps us safe from Russian invasion.

Britain needs a nuclear deterrent. We don't need a like for like replacement, but we need to have that capability.

I don't think Russia have invaded Germany recently?  Unless i had a longer than usual brain freeze at some point.

Russia are not going to invade the UK, what for?  We've got a bunch of banks, and that's about it, their natural energy resources dwarf ours, we're a tiny little strip of farmland with no manufacturing industry and no real material wealth beyond some electronic numbers on spreadsheets that can be moved anywhere in the world at a moment's notice.

What the hell would anyone invade the UK for?  It'd be like mugging a nudist.

Well, we do have the fifth largest currency. We are also the 6th largest global economy. Our rate of GDP increase has been predicted to be one of the highest of any developed nation in the next 20 years.

Unfortunately, middle class self loathing cannot challenge basic facts. Britain has massive potential in the next few decades, no matter how much you choose to downplay.

btw, Scottish airspace is penetrated almost daily by Russian military aircraft. The press don't write about it.

first ever televised "prime minister's" debate tonight.

i was never a fan of doing this, it seem extremely undemocratic to excludes all but three parties and not living in either Kircaldy or Whitney i'm not gonna vote for brown or cameron. Still, they're gonna happen and i'm looking forward to some car crash telly. Brown cant put together a sound bite, cameron has no policy and people will make a cup of tea when clegg is on.

cant wait to see the buggers sweat.

Yeah, this is a really bad step in my opinion. I'm proud of British culture: As a nation we've achieved a hell of a lot. To simply slip into the shadow of America is a massive injustice. I consider the influences of American culture and economic power in the UK to be one of the factors contributing to degradation of our society.

Credit where it's due, the Americans have built an incredible empire around media, Hollywood, big business etc. It's infiltrated more cultures than any hostile army possibly ever could.
