Fair enough, it is what it is really. To be honest I'm not too thrilled with the idea of the whole leak stuff kicking off again, the band let us know how they feel about leaks and the band is in the best shape in years. A little instrumental clip is pretty harmless but if full songs etc start leaking I may have to watch this one from the sidelines.

Understand your point, but Axl never expressed bad feelings about the leaks... he even laughed at it on the 2006 shows, called us downloading motherfuckers and liked to have us singing along to the new songs already in the NY shows if you forgot.

The only person who didn't sit well with leaks was bumblefoot! He was the only member who directly said he thought it wasn't cool, cause the material for cd wasnt finished.
But that's his opinion. Doesn't mean Axl thinks that way! and he's the main guy like it or not.

Basically for us it's devastating across the board. And when u have such a majority openly justifying their actions and throwing out nonsense such as it's not actually stealing as the original is still with whomever it's unbelievably insane.

It exists because of the greed of the record industry, the greed of large scale pirating, the ease and common nature now of the act itself and personal motivations such as popularity among certain groups, possible momentary media recognition etc.

And it's too rampant and widespread. It's simply too huge a mess for the courts to deal with and in that with those #'s and the expense and manpower involved necessary at this time to curtail it... obviously there are more serious crimes for society to focus on.

Besides, fuck musicians right? If they didn't make enough already then they probably suck anyway rt? "I ain't cryin' for no rich dude." Whatever.

And who knows? What are our #'s on the torrent sites for this album? I don't know. So I don't know how or if it's affected us in terms of sales this time around. Maybe not but w/the economy and the core of our market I'd think there's a possibility it has had a negative effect. Anyone?


Not trying to call you out man, if you want to chase after new leaks then more power to ya. But the man doesn't like it so I feel like I need to respect his wishes on this one.
But I am curious, did you actually 'acquire' this leak or did you just find it and post it?

^ Good point, almost posted it myself. Axl is definitely against leaks. He just didn't care about people recording live shows with cell phones etc., and that is a completely different story.

I haven't seen this before, but he does seem bothered, however he didn't say directly that he had a strict opposition to it. He did react a different way in the NY shows.

But anyways, i understand what Axl is saying, but he has to see the other side of the coin, which he probably is aware of. And thats the fact that if there were no leaks, it would be hard for fans to have stuck around for so long (in cd's case).
Thanks to the leaks, people got interested and stuck around in the boards and consequently that kinda promoted the album! Even more so, than the actual official promotion of the album, which was none.
Nonetheless i can understand Axl's point!

As for what happened. Im not gonna get into details, but i got a hold of 4 or  5 songs. Not much, but i think its well deserved since i spent almost a year looking for new songs.
Im not gonna leak them though.. im expecting to trade them to get more songs. I will never leak this material.
You can take out the questions marks though. This IS in fact The General! without the vocals.
I'll put my whole body on fire for it !
