More new album rumours...

Well it seems there's a good chance that this album will be released this year. Once again, expect it to be chock full of Buckethead solos

There are a few reasons that cause me to believe this;

From the NY POST a few weeks back: "[...] Axl's in NYC mainly to finish the new Guns N' Roses album and has a lot to proove[...]"

From Axl's latest Twitter (his hotel is two blocks away from Universal): "ok... times to go take care of some biznezz...you all have a great w/e and oh yeah.. don't forget to follow @axlrose peace!!! "

Recently while I was in LA on business, a little birdie mentioned to me that a self titled, GNR album is set to drop in early summer.

"The "birdie" told me that Universal received something like 30 tracks back in April 2008 from the Guns camp. Due to all the leaks, it was a no-brainer which songs would actually make the first album. Again, just repeating what I was told. Not trying to sell it as fact. "

And if they don't come up with better stuff, the next album will have Buckethead and Finck featuring almost everything in credits. "

i wouldn't believe in little birds if i were you, most of buckethead's parts are expected to be edited in some form.

GNR Twitter has been rather busty too nothing about an album but they have been chatting to fans

i think they should get the finck/bucket material out the way and release it... then go back to the studio with dj/bumble. But that would be to good to be true

There is some contradiction in that story. It would be great, but that is very hard to believe.

A summer tour with a new album that no one has any clue about? You would think if there were a chance to tour with the album this summer then it would start to be hyped up.

I guess one thing that makes sense is there will be mainly bucket and Finck, because I believe DJ said he is working on a Sixx Am thing right now. That would be a shame if Ron and DJ cant get it done. They are cool live, and Ron can hang with the best of them, but I have never been much a fan of their own works.

I see a 0% chance of any new stuff this year. Hell, it would be even dumb - they haven't even (except for concerts) properly promoted CHD yet!
Or if that was all, in terms of promotion, then it would just suck big time.

not impressed with works or richard/frank/Ron/Dj.....   hmfp   that's a bit weird since Richard is one of an amazing guitar player and axl was proud to mention that he was working on a new gnr song back in the UK in 06 that he worked on it already for 48 hours straight.
and he can play almost like everything and has a unique style just like the man himself(Axl)
Dj is a bit of a ''Slash'' guy he is mainly about feel and he plays lot's of blues/rock orientated riffs (I think......) I dd hear his albums sixx am and Beautiful creatures so I'm not that far of.

with Frank is nothing wrong.. he fitted in real good and has that groove sound gnr could make some use of.

And bumble well he's just mainly for solo's but I'm betting he can come up with some real good stuff so I wouldn't believe this story for the slightest some things might be true...

but an early summer release is highly unlikely.
Axl isn't that good in hiding his music when he's about to release it see chinese demo's
and we would've heard something... and if they are working on a new record ( I could see it happening same time like 08) they are keeping it real under the radar this time......

No way we get new album this year ! Ron and Axl both said they were going to "work" CD for a good bit!
Hell I'm just hoping for U.S. dates this summer/fall

No offense, but there's no credible source backing this story. 
I can't understand how anyone could believe it. (I guess the other forum has lowered its standards for posting news).

We've seen so many album release date rumors over the past decade - most of them bogus - which is why I'm not sure why anyone would post one without a source attached to it.  In the past, the rumors would get everybody's hopes up, and then when it didn't happen, they'd all blame Axl.
Of course, I suppose Axl could have Fernando or one of his other paid hands make a post to deny it, and they haven't done that. So, if - or when - it doesn't happen, I guess it will be fair to blame Axl.
