You should make your tag line something to the effect of "Kov's realism, shattering idealism everywhere."
http://www.ifitwasmyhome.comJust to help put the size of the spill in perspective. A couple of months and BP can start to look for a plan to take the water out of the oil.
Nemo great points. even polar a little .... I see a lot of delays with action. This should never have happenned and there should have been a plan in place in case it did. Epic Fail. State of Emergency .... troops ... nets .... guns .... scientists ... technology.. no expense. BP and co pays for it. tents on beaches... battlestations. IMHO BP should go under.. bye.Obama looses my vote for expanding and continuing permits on domestic drilling when its not needed... risking this kind shit. when there is no plan for failure.

True. But you know what will happen huh? When this is finally cleaned up, BP will come asking for a bail-out just as the banks did - and it will get it. So taxpayers will wind up footing the bill for the cleanup. btw, those pics on the previous page are just heart-breaking to see. Terrible terrible situation.
The entire bill for the clean up operation equals 12 days profit for BP, the world's fourth largest company.
Well, considering the combined amount of claims that BP's going to have to pay out, estimates range from around 12 to $20 billion in terms of the total cleanup costs and compensation claims that BP will have to pay. When you look at the amount of value that's actually been wiped off BP's share prices, though, that's closer to $50 billion. So we can see that the market has overreacted in terms of the value that's been lost from BP, compared with its liability.
Besides, they're not an American company, and it's hardly the first time they've had a bunch of American workers die under their responsibility over the past few years. I'd say the chances of them getting a penny of recompense out of your government for this are close to zero.I think it's gone a bit beyond that now. 12 days gross revenue perhaps, but last I heard we were talking a ball-park figure of a year's operating profits. Their value has dropped by 25% and there's pretty strong speculation they could be subject to a takeover bid in the not too distant future.
