This "we invaded for oil" BULLSHIT, is annoying.
The region will never be secured for anything, ever.

For anyone to assume that, on any level is kind of ignorant.

And I love how no one mentions how the people of Iraq benefited most with losing a dictator and his insane sons.

Bush mentioned liberating the people and spreading freedom and some type of real hope in that region.

It wasn't all words and sure it took a few bombs but what else has ever brought results?

when you kill one dictator, like sadam, you open up the floodgates for civil war and a giant power grab to take his spot.  you "create a vacuum, then you fill that vacuum"

at least sadam killed al queida....  now shiites and sunhis will be raping each other for centuries to come.

it's fucking retarded and ignorant to say we invaded iraq for oil, i totally agree.  it's also equally as ignorant to say they are better off without sadam.  he was a HORRIBLE person i agree, but wait til you see what would happen if we left.  now we get to be there forever and ever until a real conservative/libertarian gets elected and pulls them out

what i said wasn't stupid, insensitive yes, but i just think the blame should be equally distributed to the people responsible, and not just put on 1 company, i  think something every1 here will agree on is that the oil spill is a bad thing.

if only 1 part takes the blame, the other's are let off scott free, which means they learn nothing from their mistakes, and disasters like this wil happen again

i completely agree with that. just the we invaded for oil stuff is largely untrue.

what sounds more paranoid in this case?

A. Securing a region to secure an economy

B. Invading a country to find WMD's

answer hint:  its not where the money is
thanks for the hint sean, wouldve been lost without it :P. but on topic, not saying your more paranoid than the united states government. governments are supposed to be a bit paranoid. And I truly believe we thought there were WMD's in iraq, and I truly believe getting rid of Saddam was the other reason we invaded.

if thats the case bush 2 was just finishing what bush 1 started, that itself is is unfair, did you elect bush 1 in again?

its not like the fact that saddam is gone is a bad thing. he was an evil dictator, i dont think you can find a case for him being a good guy. that being said im not so sure of all the wars to get involved with that the one in iraq was the smartest. I dont think that is a good enough reason for us to invade. However, if certain countries(namely China) in the UN security council werent blocking it from getting involved in places where its needed(darfur and maybe iraq), then the US itself wouldnt have to do it. I ARE ESS im not sure what you mean did you elect bush 1 in again? no that was his son? im lost.

thats fair enough but its not the sole reason we went to war, the u.s or the u.k, and yeah saddam was a bad guy, but we have yet to find evidence of the WMD's or Osama Bin Laden, which it was reported over here in the U.K, Saddam had links to.

my point is that Iraq war was bush 1's party and electing Bush 2 seems like jsut another bush 1 presidency because of that.

We already are reserving oil for the US for us being over there.  US wanted pipelines built in Afghanistan since late 90's but we needed a different government there and the stability through off the plans for the 2 billion dollar pipeline US energy company Unocal that was chased away by who? The Taliban.

Now that we are over there guess what? we found tons more oil under the surface and projects are back on.  so bitch please
What are your current thoughts about Kurt Cobain?

548,000 Barrels of oil we take from Iraq every day.

During December 2002, the United States imported 11.3 million barrels of oil from Iraq.

(things) get secured.   like it or not Iraq hold world's 2nd largest oil reserve.

From the US Energy Information Administration:

""Iraq holds more than 112 billion barrels of oil - the world's second largest proven reserves. Iraq also contains 110 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and is a focal point for regional and international security issues."
